there's a lot to hate Konami for, including not producing any new 2d castlevania for a long time, but this collection is not one of them

i do think rewind is a bit overkill for the modern castlevania games, but whatever. collection works well, plays well, looks well with some customization options on how you want your screens laid out, it's all pretty good stuff

digital eclipse back at it again. good collection, the rewind is welcome, great extra tidbit contents (including in-game manuals and tips and maps!)

the only downside is the price, bit steep for a collection of older beat em ups. go for it if you really want the collection, otherwise wait for a sale

i think 6 was the peak of early megaman, and these games feel, overall, a downgrade from that, but they're still fine enough to play

the rewind function is sorely missed though

Could simply not get a controller to work on Steamdeck, and the default keyboard controls suck. Like really bad.

Did not resist the test of time. Freed from Wiiware but there are better platformers to play out there.

a fantastic adventure. not much of a puzzle game, but much more of a narrative-driven game. the game does nudge you along in a way that makes you not think much, for better or for worse. it isn't as egregious as games with endless popups - just a small screen hover or another line or two of dialogue. this will upset most people but didn't bother me too much.

the worst part is there's no manual save system - it's all automatic. the game isn't long or bothersome to play so restarting from a previous checkpoint isn't all -that- bad but it still sucks regardless.

fantastic visuals and soundtrack.

would still recommend playing it!

it handles exactly like it looks : great. fantastic visual style, tight gameplay, not much more you could ask for. genuinely worth considering for what is on offer here, the drifting mechanic with the tilting screen (which you can turn off, if you really want to but i don't know why you should short of it making you feel sick!!) is reaaaaally fun

i will never press the look backward button though because im too busy drifting

i love the mana series, despite the fact that by all accounts it is mostly what people would consider a "B tier" rpg. what i mean by that is that there's stuff that people would hate, like a lack of lypsynching, a straightforward story, the usual suspects

but if you're into the series, Visions of Mana is absolutely worth playing. problem is, it feels like that's only *who* this is for. the game is referential to its heritage, almost to a fault. a lot of people would not care about what the game is presenting you with, despite its overall stellar visual presentation. which on that note, it feels like you're playing in one of Isono's paintings. amazing effort on that front by the visuals and design team.

but past that? i don't know if most people would like it. i still think it's a strong recommend if you're into the genre, though I think most people would prefer the Trials of Mana remake, but I do love what visions put on my plate and is serving me.
