listen, it's fine, but do not play this game if you dislike puzzles, story aside, because that's the bulk of the offering here

still recommending it because the game isn't bad, but the narrative is only half of it

Procedurally generated metroidvania will please a lot of people.

But for me personally the game just kind of felt tedious to play, a lot of it felt drawn out for no real purpose other than for there to be "more" game and rooms. the procedural generation kind of kills the appeal of the game.

There are better, actually structured games out there.

apparently there's a more complete version of retroarch somewhere, i dunno, but this got everything i wanted to do decently well and fast

setting up controllers and cores is decent enough, but if you listened to some people you'd be thinking this is like the devil to set up or something

very simple to understand and get into. kind of a weird idea to make a scoring game out of skydiving and avoiding randomly generated terrain but sure!! it works, and it makes you not really want to put it down. i think it could use a bit more feats to really motivate you to maybe do other things than squeeze in tight spaces, but not exactly a deal killer, especially not at that price point

on the easier side, but a cute and fun ride all the way through!!

price of entry might be a bit steep for what's on offer so for most people this would be a "on sale" game, but i do think it's worth a shot if only for the vibes the game offers, it's really cute, charming and fun!!!

couple of things : you might need to fiddle with steam settings to get a controller to work, and the game is capped at 30 fps

other than that? it's tales of symphonia with the extra ps2 stuff. really not much to say - still a solid game overall, with a pretty good story/characters. definitely worth playing

also please god can we get a port of abyss to pc or something good lord

Painfully mediocre anime tag team fighters. I would strongly avoid it unless you really really *really* like OP.

The story is terribly short, and on top of that, CPU battle difficulty are all over the place with no rhyme or reason. Do yourself a favor and avoid this game.

this game is way more fun than it should be, the hardest part is CONVINCING YOUR FRIENDS TO PLAY WITH YOU!!!!!

it's a fine game, but i had to personally put it down.

every 3 minutes, something happens. dave gets back from his dive? 3 people talk to him. open the bar? 10 people. discover something new? 5 side quests. none of it is particularly enticing to me - it feels like the devs had ideas they kept piling up, no one ever really told them no, so they put every single thing they could in this game.

i'd still recommend it - i think the gameplay loop is more than fine - but i found the game very exhausting. it's built like a mobile game, constantly throwing something your way to grab your attention instead of letting its strengths shine.
