How to briefly summarize my experience with Rimworld: Live a humble life or be stricken down by the AI gods.

That being said my main fun is derived in challenging myself, in this game. Not in creating sprawling bases with insane tech. But seeing how long you can go with self-imposed restrictions. I enjoy trying to survive as a single character alone in places that are not easy to survive in, or staying light and living nomadic. Imagine carrying only enough to settle down for a month at a time in a harsh desert, and migrating when the supplies are too thin to maintain you any longer. Just move a tile or two over, and you have a new area ripe with resources.
Just don't try to do it as a nudist. It sucks.

[Jul 8 - Received on Steam as part of: Worlds Adrift - Standard Edition GIFT]

I got to play this game for almost a month. I had one, nice, long journey. I knew the game was gonna pass. I've always wanted to play it. So, my boyfriend tossed me his last gift copy of the game. I've sunk more hours in it than some of the people I met playing at the end. The kind who joined almost too late to the end. I reccomend this game, fruitlessly, knowing that it will likely never be restored or brought to it's final vision.

The engine had massive issues. We all know that. But the biggest problem was that the networking, the servers it runs on, is proprietary, they basically made the software and hardware for it, and that networking was build in, integrally, to the game itself. The netcode was why you were able to see every little animation smoothly and nicely without many bugs, or un-synced animations. It was why everyone saw the ship the same exact way. But that same thing caused issue, it hogged a lot of resources and it frequently killed many of you on release or the early days. One hiccup meant a jolt to the ship.

In the devstream, they mentioned all this, but also a key fact; they lost three times as much money on the game as they made. I've heard people state that Bossa got a total of 10 million dollars from the game, (Probably facetiously). Imagine losing that, 20 million. Or even worse, 30 million. You don't willingly lose that much money without aspiring to try to make it better. Keep it going. For the game.

The game will never be brought back to it's potential as it is because of the way the server is handled. They ballparked the processing power needed for both the servers (PvE and PvP) and all it's regions and zones to be roughly equivalent to ~60 high end desktop towers. Unless some provider is willing to host even 30 high end desktop towers for one server, for nigh free, running on donations, it just won't work. And the game was enough of a buggy mess as it was.

Regardless, I love this game. TL;DR, try not to hate on bossa too much, reasons above.
I've literally been awake 21~ hours so as to not miss the end of the world and it's livestream from bossa. I've been absorbing all the information they'd put out with the Q&As that was a hot contention spot. I hope this review helps you understand what's happened. You don't have to like Bossa, but they sure tried.

I want to start out by saying, that if you can look past the initially grindyness of all MMORPG games, this game has a great community that you can return back to whenever. It's got great art, and wonderful music, cheezy PG-13 humor, and a great combat system.
Possibly my favorite things about this game are the fact that the four nations of the game are entirely player-run. Economy, Ecology, etc. I play as a character that makes sure other players have enemies to fight and I try to keep a good ecological balance in the places I go. New players don't seem to realize that you can actually make an enemy type go extinct, so you have to be careful. This game gets an 8.5 or a 9 out of 10 from me. Anyways, that's it for my little introductory, brief review.

Full review;

- Wakfu has an anime art style. This is because it's based around an anime of the same name, which is a french anime that, while I've personally never watched it, I do know plenty of the characters from it and I do know that it is a really rather nice anime, at least, from what I've heard from my friends. It has a great soundtrack also reminescent of the anime, and the humor is right around the same. The character designs for the game are all very solid, and even though it looks more reminescent of, say, a flashgame, where you can notice like, how the limbs move, maybe stretch, you'll notice that here, but it's in a cartoony sense so you won't pay it much mind, Id think.

- Wakfu has a very robust crafting and harvesting economy. All your resources, except for ores, are things you either have to hand-plant, or harvest from groves or gardens that are maintained by other players. Nations can impose limits to how many plants can be harvested or planted in a percentile range, and going over or below those percentiles will actually impose a penalty on you, being something as low as a 'citizen-level' penalty, to something as strict as a kill-on-sight bounty. The monster ecology for this game is exactly the same as the herb/tree/plant ecology, and everything is controlled by the players, even influencing the weather in the game for certain regions, making one region better for certain plants, and even time of years will influence the temperature!

- Wakfu's combat system is probably just as robust as it's ecological and economical parts, and I'll echo the sentiment that this game's combat system is similar to Final Fantasty: Tactic's. I can't really say too much about the current state of the combat system, as it's apparently undergone a good deal of revisions, according to my friends, and skills and passives no longer work like they used to, and work in different ways, but the combat system is still very in depth, and you can view all of it's workings, majorly, in your own character screen, so it may be intimidating at first, but the more you play around with it the more you get used to it. I'm not a very serious combative player so I can't fully explain how the combat system works, but there are a lot of classes for you to try out and tinker with, so there's probably at least one playstyle for you to like!

- On Wakfu's community.. I'm going to make one thing clear; Every game will have it's people who are there to ♥♥♥♥ with other players. This game is no different, and there's no exceptions. Players from hostile nations can invade your nation and try and instigate you to attack them, or deforest your region you're in. They can also try and bring your nation's enemy population down, but that's majorly it, people can be douchebags, but a major group of people are either rather kind and helpful or they keep to themselves, which is understandable. This game shines in my opinion for how it's all player run, and you, yes, you could be nominated for helping whichever country you join, or even ruling it, if you make enough friends and prove yourself to be worth of such a responsibility. It's daunting at first, but you'll meet plenty of people who've played as leaders or as parts of nations. It's like, a half-sort of roleplaying thing, half nation management for your role. I've never been a member of a nation's staff, but I plan on working my way to that.

(I'm currently reinstalling this game, and the game's done-- for now, this is my review, but I will add more later!)

I gain brouzouf.
I hack people and make them kill their friends.
It's an alright game. I have a few hours in it, I think?
It's kinda like Shadowrun, but on a varied diet of shrooms, LSD, and crack cocaine. But it's recovering from an addiction to meth.
It's like, nine dollars. That's about how much it's worth. It's not nearly as polished as StreumOn's other game, Space Hulk Deathwing but I played this before that, so. This game holds a good place in my heart. Iunno, try it if you like? I think there's a demo.
Cyberpunk 2077 is apparently related to EYE according to steam, so, that's pretty cash.

This game will rock your socks and pack an amazing graphical package even for a game made in 2007! This game was groundbreaking in it's time, and it's sometimes hard to believe (Okay, well, except for engine bugs. it's not like source.) It's an old game. First in the series, i'd recommend you to play either this game or Clear Sky first. And, with mods, this game will have you coming back for more and more. (and more!) [/b] This game's really quite better than the other two, in my opinion. Please, I'd ask you to try this game, at least once. If you don't like it, you can complain to me. But I bet you'll like it for one reason or another.

Unironically, a pretty good addition into the STALKER series. More mechanically complete than Call of Pripyat. Just make sure you find some hard cover, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. The intro slog in the swamps is painful, so as always, quicksave often.
