Whether you're in the mood for just killing zombies and maybe some friendly RP or you're feeling bloody savage for some PvP you will find all of that and more with DayZ! Hope this info helps you, if you do get into DayZ be sure to download DZSA Launcher, that's the client you'll use to server browse the custom modded games list and you'll want to use that instead of the in-game browser. DZSA Launcher will automatically subscribe, download and manage the mods needed for each server without any major effort on your part which is really nice and the best part it's free! DayZ has had a long history coming up from it's origin as a mod for Arma II and with that said I can recommend this game to you with confidence and pride because it's that good! Heck, the Arma II DayZ mod is still better than Infestation and honestly that says a lot. I don't have many bad reviews on Steam, in fact Infestation might be my only bad review, it's a terrible game and I've been warning people about it for years. You'd be better advised to play Rust, SCUM, or even LFD2 over Infestation.

In all honestly I'm pretty much with you in terms of not being picky with games, and usually I'll play a game regardless of the quality and will forgive a lot in terms of bugs. Infestation has a terrible free-to-play model, and the servers are very limited. DayZ in comparison has strong community driven servers, much better servers than you'll find while playing Infestation and that my friend is an absolute fact! Not only will you find less bugs in DayZ, and seriously there are very little bugs and speaking of bugs a new patch is releasing that's addressing the last of the games major bugs.

For somebody just getting started your absolute best value currently would be DayZ Standalone. Keep in mind there's a new DLC out for DayZ too, but honestly you'd be fine with just buying the base game from G2A, you can find Steam keys for under $25 bucks and that's an absolute bargain! The game is outstanding in terms of open world survival, and the selection of custom modded servers will keep you coming back for endless replay.

i fell down a rabbit hole and read your comments in the Infestation New Z threads. i enjoy zombie games, but have shied away from mmo moba games for years. you had mentioned to go play something better than Infestation, and i'm just wondering if you could recommend 3 or 4 games that would be better suited for someone like me who wants to get in the genre for the first time?
i was going to play Infestation because the game has a 1,000,000 zombies killed achievement, and i like to pursue those achievements especially. i'd also like to know if there is cheating going on in Infestation that you are aware of? i can trudge through a crappy game just fine, but if there's players with cheat programs, exploits, etc., then i'll give it a complete pass. i dont care to read through a toxic community's threads - you seem to know what's going on, so i value your opinion on this
