Having fun with this game so far. Cute little collect-a-thon platformer (obviously inspired by Banjo-Kazooie and other games like that from the late 1990s / early 2000s). I have to say though, the character voice acting is annoying as all hell... I get that it is trying to recreate the style from the classic games, but it's way too much. Definitely turn the voices down / off.

This game is how all open-world action RPGs should be made. Your character can be whoever you want them to be, and you have absolutely zero family backstory forced upon you (cough cough... Fallout 4). I really enjoy the S.P.E.C.I.A.L skill point distribution system in the Fallout games, and it feels like this one makes the best use of it. The perks that you can choose in this game are also varied and useful. The addition of the Hardcore Mode is welcome, and I actually would highly recommend that you play with the Hardcore Mode turned on. It adds an extra level of realism to the game: making the Stimpacks (health items) heal you over time rather than instantly; you needing to go to a doctor / doctors' bag if you break one of your limbs; and needing to eat food / drink water. You will really enjoy this game if you like games where you are given free reign to do pretty much anything you want, and to make your character whoever you want them to be.

Honestly, this game is really beautiful and genuinely relaxing to play. Really satisfying seeing your country grow from the ancient era all the way up until modern times, and beyond. Even if you just play single-player, this is a really fun game. Can get a bit confusing with all the different DLC, where it gives you option of different gamemodes rather than just adding DLC on top of one another in a single gamemode. Games can last quite a long time, especially if you play the online multiplayer.

Early Access Review
I recommend this game ONLY on the condition that you play it with friends. Single player can be a bit boring to the point where you just sit in silence in the corner and watch your character read magazines / books to have any chance at all of surviving. At least with friends you can chat and come up with plans on what to do next. Alone, this game becomes a bit of an XP grind. The tutorial was very helpful though. This might just be personal preference, but I really dislike how you can't see what's behind you (I know the game tries to go for realism, but I feel like your character would at least have SOME kind of awareness of what is behind them). I love the character customisation and skill / perk system though, it is nice that you can make your character fit whatever role you want them to. Some roles definitely seem more useful than others though.

This game is extremely overwhelming as a new player. I think the tutorial really needs fleshing out a bit more, because I had to get someone I know on Discord to teach me how to actually play properly. The matchmaking seems broken because it's putting me against level 100+ players with multiple prestiges on their characters, while I'm level 1 and am new to playing all the characters. Seems to take way too long to unlock the characters too (and I don't even have the "worst" version of the game, so I dread to think what it is like on there). Especially frustrating that you gain less currency when you face a losing streak due to being put against people at a higher level than you. Community doesn't seem as toxic as I expected... sometimes get sarcastic pings in the in-game chat but nothing that bad, to be honest. If you are going to get this game, then I highly recommend you play with a friend to get any kind of enjoyment out of it.

An extremely good remake of the game that I originally played as a kid. Not had any issues with glitches (so far). Keeps the original SpongeBob type of humour too. A lot of stuff to collect, but sometimes can be frustrating to find everything if you are missing only 1 collectible (but that is just a product of its time, I think). Voice acting is mostly great - (does it use the same voice lines from the original game?), Mermaid Man and Mr. Krabs still sound a little bit... off, but they did in the original too. Collecting Patrick's socks is honestly really fun because they are super well hidden and encourage you to use your imagination to make them appear (like wrecking Squidward's house lol).

Having a LOT of fun with this game. Reminds me of early YouTube / Newgrounds type humour. A lot of effort has clearly been put into this game from the number of animations that you'll only see a single time. Controls perfectly with the directional pad on my Xbox Controller. Music is really good too :)

Especially fun to play with friends. I actually like the tank unlock- and upgrade-system, and I don't think that gathering research points takes too long (at least so far).

Faithful collection of the original games. Controls are responsive and perfect with my Xbox Controller, no issues there at all. Particularly enjoy the original on NES and IV on SNES.
