Thank you so much for this game, I've learned A LOT

I started playing this back with CMS 2018 and from the point of view of someone that didn't know much about car mechanics, I can say that this game was responsible to improve my knowledge to the point where I can actually do and more important, understand things.

I wish there were more simulator games like this and I will definitely be there if Red Dot Games ever decides to launch a new sequel to this amazing franchise.

All things considered, I hope that the new games could focus more on the electronics part as well implementing more wires and cables to install and connect, this way, effectively seeing how a car makes all of that amazing engineering to work.

Having a CO-OP would also be cool so that we could work on the cars along our friends while exploring the surroundings.

I've finished CMS 2021 in Expert Difficulty, the beginning was definitely "harsh" but what lacked was actually more control over our resources management because after a point, after fixing and selling so many cars, the money never ends!

All in all, this is the best simulator I've ever played!

Thank you, Red Dot Games!

Interesting game that I hope will be released one day

Randomly searching for some indie horror games to play in steam and I ended up finding the first Demo of The Cult of Chanseville which I checked last year and absolutely loved.

I can see now that the second demo improved A LOT, not that this was bad, it was actually a way better experience than most indie horror games you find out there however, the direction the second demo took is clearly a more refreshing and scarier approach.

After playing this, it becomes clear that the whole plot was revised and a lot has changed (for the better) however, knowing that this game is in a "hiatus" (not abandoned, hopefully) it makes me think if the developer is actually trying to revise the whole thing again.

I did leave a feedback at The Cult of Chanseville discussion board in 2023 and now I will leave this review right here in hopes that the developer could communicate the game's status.

Amazing work!

Early Access Review
Outstanding Start!

Reviewing Palworld at this point is almost pointless since everybody pretty much knows how the game works and what it is, have said that, I will cover aspects that most people are not familiar about and that could help possible buyers to solve their dilemma (buy or not buy?)

In Minecraft, there is a well-known MOD called: "Pixelmon", which brings Pokemons to the survival world of Minecraft, thus creating a very similar ambient we have in Palworld.

You catch, train, battle, level... you know the gimmicks! Except that in Palworld, you actually use the monsters to manage your resources.

Building things is too boring? A Pal will do it for you!

Mining is too boring? A Pal will do it for you!

Questions

You, yeah, you! I know your doubts so I will answers your questions here!

Is the Battle Turn-Based like Pokemon?

No, it isn't! You can command your Pal to do things but you can't really choose the actions he is going to do, he will use all his possible attacks!

Can I ride them?

Yes, you can ride Pals IF you have their corresponding Saddle which you craft in a specific Workbench (like Ark)

What happens if I die?

By default, you drop your loot (not Pals) and respawn at your base. You can actually configure this so that you can disable Drop or, make it harder by configuring it to drop even Pals!

What about Multiplayer?

There are the official servers hosted by Pocketpair and also the Community Servers (which are Dedicated) hosted by other players. However, you can play a Non-Dedicated game by creating a Map and enabling the Multiplayer function, you will be given an "Invitation Code" which you can send to your friends so that they can join your game!

Is the game buggy right now?

Well, it's an Early Access game meaning that it's still in development, however... so far I didn't had any crashes. But I did managed to encounter a few bugs/glitches. I must say though, I only found them because I am the type of player that abuses mechanics and breaks the game, I don't think it will be an issue for you!

How can I learn to play?

The game has a "Survival Guide" which will help you all the way through your journey. I play a lot of Survival games and thus I might be biased to say this, but: it's actually a very easy game! Very intuitive

Conclusion

Those were the questions that most of my friends asked me and I hope it helped you to decide if you want to buy this game or not.

As for the developers:

Incredible work! Keep going on and I am sure we will hear more about you guys!!

DO NOT BE AFRAID OF THIS GAME!

I know... if you are reading this you are probably thinking about buying this game, you are an avid RPG player.

Outward looks so appealing to you but you are not sure if it will fulfill all you want in an Open World RPG Survival game and most of all, you are scared of the "Souls-like" tag right there! You love roleplaying, you love survival, you love immersion, you love huge diversity of items, places, enemies and also a good and FAIR challenge...

I started playing Outward very recently (some people could state that I don't know the game very well) however I will still try my best to convince you that: yes, this game might be for you!

1) About the Difficulty:

Ok, the game is difficult alright! But I wouldn't say that this is a "Souls-like" difficulty! The beginning is really harsh, you will be overwhelmed by most enemies outside the gates but seriously, if you have played other "old school" RPGs like Risen and Gothic, you will probably know that you never start a game killing demons and dragons... everything demands a preparation and planning, Outward is on that category.

Even Skyrim, for example, if you play in Legendary Difficulty and go outside with a weak armor, you will be killed by a mere Giant Mudcrab! You will realize that "Ok, I need to prepare. I need better gear, maybe some skills/perks and potions".

Dying in Outward doesn't mean you lose the game (unless you play in Hardcore), you will wake up in a different location and the outcomes of your death depends on the circumstances of your defeat. If you are killed by Hyenas you will wake up in their Nest, if you die by bandits you wake up on their Camp and so on... that much I already learned! Hyenas won't steal your gear but bandits might do so! You can recover all your lost items usually in the place where you wake up.

If you can't find your backpack next to you, just look around and you might find your items on a chest... you can consult the Outward wiki, this mechanic is very complex but at least, I hope you understood that the game is not really difficult, its not unfair, it just demands that you prepare for things!

I find games like Conan Exiles way harder than Outward and that "Souls-like" tag is misplaced, in my honest opinion.

2) About the Survival:

Being brief... its a standard survival mechanic. Hunger, Thirst and Sleep, they do affect your stats with buffs and debuffs depending on your conditions but its nothing really complex. There are diseases in this game, so far I didn't got any trouble with that but I already noticed that there are concoctions that heal you and apparently some diseases can be cured by sleeping and keeping yourself well-nourished.

3) About the Roleplaying:

There is a Character Creation and Customization Interface but nothing too much detailed.

You are pretty much free to do whatever you want. Some places are restricted to be accessed only after quests but overall, you can go anywhere you want. So far, I've been farming Silver to build my strenght the best I can! Right now I am roleplaying as a fisherman, because I've realized that some fish can be sold by a good price and I am slowly getting a good gear to become an adventurer and later on, maybe join a Faction which I am not sure right now... maybe the Holy Faction!

The game constantly reminds you that you are not a hero, rather, you are just a commoner supposed to find your place in a harsh world and at the very beginning you will learn that. When you go out of your house, there will be a mob demanding you to pay lots of money in compensation of the bad deeds made by your grandmother, in the world of Outward, the descendants must pay for the mistakes of their ancestors and that is just the beginning of a whole world of unforgiveness!

4) Hints:

Well, so far I can tell you that Fishing is a good and safe option to farm Silver, your only expense is a Harpoon.

My gameplay improved a lot after I bought a Flintlock from the merchant at the gates. I suppose you could use a bow to kill enemies from high-ground but at least for me, it was not a good strategy...

Bandages and Rags helps a lot!

Invest in Weapons with high Impact value, they are better to stagger enemies and helps you to hit more times!

So far, this is all I can say...

5) How this game could improve:

What I am mostly missing here is a Workshop. Outward does have a Modding Community and you can find some pretty interesting mods in Nexus, however, I would still enjoy more if we could have a Steam Workshop for Outward!

It could help engage more people in the Modding scene.

So far, this is all I have to say about Outward (I'll update this Review if needed).

Again, do not be afraid to play this game! Its not as difficult as it portrays itself and its not unfair as some negative reviews says! Just be open-minded and have patience!!

This is one of the most underrated games of all times!

I first played this game back in 2009 when I finally got a good enough PC to run high-end games back in those days and Prototype was mind-blowing for me!

Then, here I am again in 2023 playing this game and it still amazes me! Sure, the game has some "archaic" aspects to it (compared to more modern games): the graphics are outdated and some mechanics will be considered "clunky" for younger players but, gamewise? The gameplay is still up-to-date really!

I think this would be a very good time for Radical to come back with Prototype, I mean... Open-world games are making so much fuss nowadays and there have been a lot of improvements on the whole genre that they could take advantage of it to make a more modern Prototype.

I've never played Prototype 2 but I do know the "controversies" the game had, mostly, storywise. However, it could be a great opportunity to remaster this game or even, reboot the entire series if the community so demands it!

If you are interested in the game:

• The game is difficult: I will start by saying that... you will be up to a challenge playing this game, truly! The difficulty curve is ok at first but it will take a "brutal turn" later on around mid-game. I finished my most recent run playing Normal Difficulty and it made me sweat!

• The game is fun: be it Parkour, exploring the city, collecting landmarks, doing challenges, infiltrating bases, exterminating hives, piloting a helicopter, driving a tank or even, just rampaging throughout the city with your superpowers, it's a lot of fun! Its like GTA but you are an ambulant Weapon of Mass Destruction running around New York!

How to run the game:

If you try to run the game without it, you will crash at the loading! Modern computers can't run Prototype without configuring the setup, its easy, just do it as follows:

1) Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + ESC);
2) Go to Details;
3) Right-click "steam.exe";
4) Click "Set affinity";
5) Disable everything past "CPU 09";

This must be done because back then, it was normal for old games to "limit" processors due to Multi-threads not being common, meaning that in those days, the games were not meant to run multiple cores like modern games and believe it or not, that was a good optimization strategy in the 2000s!!!

You don't have to worry! After you finish playing Prototype, just do the same process and enable everything you had disabled in "Set affinity" back to normal!

Also, Prototype doesn't have a native high resolution support but the community has made fixes for it already, just search youtube and you will find it, I managed to play the game using 2560x1080!

In conclusion: this game is a MUST for any serious gaming enthusiast and it really is a piece of history being one of the most underrated games ever made!

I've downloaded this game over a mere hunch and after finishing this short demo, I must say that this is a very solid game!

The game does needs a lot of work to get where it wants to be but I can see it... its almost there!

TO DO:

1) The game needs a better Ultra Wide Screen support, just saying!

2) The settings needs more depth;

I could also point out in-game issues but its too soon for that, however, those two technical issues are really a problem!

Keep up the good work!

A very fun game with good a concept and a very decent amount of mechanics.

The only downside is that they should had removed the stamina limit when doing the port, I can't see any reasonable explanation for a PC ported game having this.

Anyway, fun game!

I decided to make this review because some of my friends simply don't understand why I spent so much time in this game xD.

A game that I downloaded just for the lulz and boredom to pass the time while working has definitely left a very good impression.

It has been an amazing journey!

318 hours of game. 37600th floor, all items, all classes, all relics, all pets, all shifter's skills, what could be maxxed out, it has been. The game is literally finished, I could go even beyond that (some people do achieve the 1.000.000th floor).

At first I couldn't believe that Soda Dungeon was a Mobile Port because the game is so polished, so well made, that I definitely saw it as a genuine Classic RPG (Turn-based) developed for PC. Everything makes sense when you track the community and finds out that the developer (Shawn Tanner) is the responsible for doing such a marvellous job. If you are more interested, he made a Q&A this year on youtube.

About the game:

First of all, it is an EASY game but it doesn't mean that the gameplay is automatic because at first, it's definitely not the case. While progressing the floors and dimensions you'll have to face a number of bosses that can not be dealt by sheer force and will only be defeated through strategy, sometimes a combination of factors (such as specific classes or skills) and of course, luck. Now, the game DOES BECOMES IDLE around 800th floor because at this point you are so strong that most enemies should be instakilled (depending the choice of relics until here) and then it becomes an automatic game where you just activate the auto-battle and let it running in the background while working and doing your things.

I truly invested a lot of time in this game because it's fun, really fun! A very good experience of what a Classic RPG should be and I do recommend it TO EVERYBODY, even if you are not a fan of the genre, this game is definitely a title that could change your mind.

The game have so much content that any completionist (like myself) will enjoy, I guarantee.

Developer, thanks for making this amazing game and I see you guys in Soda Dungeon 2!

You know when they say "Smite has the worst matchmaking ever and that's why I don't play it"?

People aren't lying... funny to read Hi-Rez's """explanation""" of their "TrueSkill System" and realize that it is a bad joke: https://www.smitegame.com/news/matchmaking-faq

Anyway... so sad! Because the game is fun!
