So this is gonna be a review on the current state of the game, not the previous updates.

If you're a returning player who played the following:
Red War Campaign
Curse of Osiris
War mind
Forsaken Campaign

I highly recommend you carry on playing Beyond Light and Witch Queen since the story of light and darkness continues.

If you are a new player wanting to play the game and you care for the story of Destiny 2. i do not recommend you purchase the new DLC's since everything currently in the game was lead up to from the DLC's Bungie selfishly removed to 'Optimize' the game, which by the way, the optimization sucks.

If you want to play Destiny purely for game play, PvP or just to play with friends because they've recommended it, although i despise PvP and the seasonal activity from this season, i would say to carry on and play the game, the actual design architecture is stunning especially if you have a higher end PC to the point you can run higher graphic options.

The main issue i have with Destiny is the 'exclusive rolls on weapons' You have a huge PvP advantage if you play higher activities such as Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner, but its not as easy as just playing them, you need to actually grind your power up to have any sort of a chance of fighting, plus the other issue with pvp is that some weapons will absolutely decimate against other players, but the activities to get them are either locked behind a paywall or stupidly hard to grind for / save resources for from the archive.

In terms of PvE, there is a huge lack of content and im currently finding myself playing the same activities week in and week out for basically no reason. in context i have around 5000 hours total on Destiny according to Time Wasted (*Played while the game was on BattleNet as well*)

Unless you have DLC content, the game is pointless to play, you have access to 1 raid, pvp, gambit and a few other select activities, honestly, it feels like more of a trial version of the game more than a full release. if you play pvp as a new light, prepare to get absolutely Sh*t on by the tryhard pvp players on 16 tick servers..

I did used to absolutely love this game, especially during Season of Arrivals when you could still play raids like Scourge of the Past and Leviathan along with its raid lairs but they're gone and i dont feel like Bungie plans to bring them back. They should have left the game at Season of Arrivals and started on D3 with Beyond Light, but they got lazy and instead just removed content people actually paid good money for with nothing in return for us, not even a discount off the new DLC's.

Do i still play it? Yes of course i do, im up to date on the story and i absolutely plan to see the end of the game which they will have taken 7 years to build up to. Would i play another Bungie game? Absolutely not, after the whole Sunsetting paid content situation, i would never feed another penny to Bungie after Destiny.

One final thing, if you buy Destiny content now, be aware Bungie will most likely be removing the Beyond Light campaign by the time the final expansion comes out so just be warned it is a possibility.

After reading this if you still decide to play the game, be my guest, there is absolutely nothing wrong in doing so, this is more of a personal opinion if anything.

Update: Bungie wont be removing further DLC from the game which is a thumbs up, but still awaiting any of the old D2 raids to return, an open space isnt really enough
