This is my new favorite game. Fromsoft has really created a masterpiece here and I absolutely love it. The open world, the weapons, the magic, the enemies, the atmosphere, everything just works so well together. There is so much to explore that I only beat the main story after 135hrs of playing and I still havent seen everything the game has to offer.

The story is pretty similar to Dark Souls but it has some nice changes. Overall it's also easier to understand and the game explains a little more than their previous titles. The combat is an upgraded version of DS3 but my god is it good. Jumping, posture breaks and critical strikes that are similar to the deathblows in Sekiro, add so much to the combat it feels better than ever. The magic looks great and is really fun to use and there are summons now, which are a nice addition to the game.

Edit: Just fought Malenia and that's easily the hardest souls boss. It took me like 2 hours to beat her first phase alone and when I realized she had a second one it still took me another 2 hours using summons and coop. That boss is just crazy. Edit end.

The bosses are also amazing. Yes, some of them do get reused quite frequently but the game still has way more unique bosses than any of their previous games and they all really feel unique and different. That said, I loved most of the bosses but the final boss left something to be desired. It wasn't bad, just not quite as spectacular as the final bosses in their previous games. When I was done I thought to myself: "that's it?". It was somewhat anticlimactic which is very odd for a Fromsoft game. Maybe it was just the ending I chose, I don't know, I can only speak from my personal experience.

There are a few things I dislike about the game though, but aside from the reused and the final boss/es they're all performance related.

1. The game stutters quite frequently and freezes for 1-2 seconds occasionally.

2. Bugs like not being able to summon other players in coop trigger me to no end it can be really annoying when even after restarting the game, it still says "unable to summon player" even though my internet is completely fine.

3. The game also crashes quite frequently when you're doing pvp for whatever reason which is kinda annoying.


Once those issues are resolved I'd give the game a 9.5/10. Currently it's a 9.
