Exceptionally Mediocre. Clearly unfinished yet lacking an early access tag. Don't worry though, they made sure not to sleep on overpriced MTX so you can spend till your heart's content. ♥

It crashed about 10 times in the main menu but since then it's been smooth sailing. I recommend shopping for a better price.

Seems they also opted for the 2005 server experience to preserve the accuracy of the port.

Aggressively mediocre, you would need to be smoking something strong to think it's worth the asking price.

Feels like NMS x The Outer Worlds.
Tone of the game feels quite PG

Pros:

- Questlines have been decent so far - MSQ Is fantastic
- Ship designer is fun to play with
- Space combat is satisfying

Cons:

- Fallout combat without the kill effects, the VATS, or the gore
- Melee is a meme
- Many of the perks are boring % stat increases
- The UI - All of it, in every scenario
- Outposts (Settlement system from F4)
- Can't design your ships interior (Doorway positions etc.)
- The new speech challenge system needs work - Conversations feel disjointed at times.
- So many loading screens - I don't mind fast travelling, I don't mind instances, but, there is a space station in orbit around a planet you will frequent, if you are in orbit around the SAME planet, you will NOT be able to fly directly to the space stations vicinity without going through ANOTHER loading screen. - So many times you need to fast travel, then open your quest log & fast travel again immediately after you finish loading.

In closing I do want to say that I am enjoying the game for what it is. There are just so many
places where it feels unfinished / unpolished in ways that should have been so obvious to a company that has been doing this sort of thing for the better part of 40 years.

There is no way I can recommend this for the asking price of even the standard edition.

Another fantastic RPG from the crew at Larian. Though certainly has it's weak points

EA had better be taking notes.
