Why even play or own this game when you can just grab a real Gamecube controller + an adapter and enjoy some Smash Melee on the dolphin emulator?!

To be real though, i got no clue about this game. And i can't get it off from my library even after contacting Valve 2 times. This is no good, i don't want to own this game! Since it means nothing to me, there is no point. But hey, i am forced to own something for free. Strange world we live in.

This is one of those games that i basically grabbed only because Gonzossm did the art. Everything else then just works to me, despite the game's simplicity. It's also quite impressive the total amount of polished content these 3-4 people put together comparing this flash game to other modern flash games. Then again, they are not newbies so it's to be expected.

Grab if you want a very basic but fun fort-survival game. Can lag heter and there. Consult the community guides on steam and you'll fix that ezpz. I beat the game in like 4 hours, worth the full prize in my book. 8.5/10 is my rating.

The minus lies in the framerate, and a small lack of somethingsomething extra to get as an upgrade. Can't tell what's missing but whatevs. It's a pretty darn good lill game! :D

The older versions of this game were worth your time as a gamer or as an actual buyer of the game. Originally. The old map was organic but hardcore, scrapped. The old shooting-system being completely unique, "fixed" (it just got replaced with a stock boring and very unskilled system), also scrapped. Daybreak added a new "good" map which wasn't utilized properly for most of it's used life-cycle (nobody should play this game anymore atm, seriously) and it gets worse.

There's no access to the old map, likely because it was "remade" despite ignoring the fact that they aren't similar even vaguely. The developers only focused on spewing out new colorful skins of varying rarities etc, as new competing products crept up and posed as a threat. Essentially, the game imploded on itself because the developers never understood why their game was great in the first place. If i could speak to the entire dev team, i'd be insanely furious on how they literally gored their entire game part by part, and then spent the rest of their remaining cash on sponsored streams from Twitch personalities (NO joke, summit1g for example). And they did this after making the game free2play. After butchering the game, and after people had learned the new map which barely got used past it's 50% hotspots because their designed code was so bad the end/ring couldn't reach the cool outer limits of the map.

What irks me a ton at present day is that i still to this day get no way of going back to play the old map what so ever. At best one get youtube vods of the map, it's not good enough and i would cleanly stay away from them and their products till maybe when they make a good game and manage it like adults again. It's just an idea though.

Gameplay: 4.
Graphics: 4.
Mechanics: 2.
Originality: 8.

The rest, i cannot be bothered to rate. But for a competitive game, lots of these factors really doesn't matter also. However no game will ever, be played well if you nuke great mechanics. So that's it for this game, GG no RE. Taiwan numba one!

The game is great, but a bit annoying to get the hang of if you don't have experience with the combat system The Culling brings forth. And it gets more annoying if you are an AMD user, i basically found the config alteration on the subreddit and enabled that just to play this game at 55-100 fps. HOWEVER, the game does NOT require a high framerate to get played well. A higher framerate makes aiming easier. However thing is that melee is really good in this game if you know what to do. Which takes practice, but also makes it so that you can still do well even at 30 fps.

Biggest gripe i got with this game lands on things that surrounds the early access norm. The mechanics need tuning, certain weapons are rather powerful, and bugs still gotta get cleaned up. The tazer is a great example. Or 1 perk combined with a tier 3-4 weapon thrown into someone's back. The damage become over 50, where you only got 100hp max. Armor, perks, syringes and such can aid you of course if you want to survive that. But all this can make certain builds win more than not, thus meaning that the game need tuning there. It is however really fun, and many early fights can run on for quite some time if you are aware and ready to play smart making even short games fun.

Ratings and technical details below. Do forgive my messy writings, i am not a pro reviewer.

The graphics look great, max as well as min. Game can use a ton of optimization but it works. The mechanics are well made and make sense for this type of game despite some glitches. While it takes time to get used to all this it is worth it for the savagery this game offers. Even if you get 100 ping.

So for play-ability, my rating lands on 7/10. It could be a lot worse, and we have seen worse examples in the past. Servers only exist in the US and Europe. Thus connection lag become annoying in fights, but if you live close it is manageable.

Graphics lands on 8.5/10. It does not need to be advanced nor over the top to work, which is clearly demonstrated if you bother to track down how to set shadows OFF and everything else put on the lowest. If you need the extra frames that is (Nvidia users got an advantage here i do believe).

Overall Rating is at 9/10 on Early access. Thanks for reading this far, i will dive deeper into the main content for those that care about this below. I decided to put it last not to spoil, for people that care about this & want to jump in fresh.

The game's style is based on the "battle royale" game mode we have seen in H1Z1, Minecraft, in other games and even as a mod in CS:GO. It works well in a gun heavy game as with H1Z1 but falls a bit flat because the map and randomization of the loot in H1Z1 can randomly annihilate you because of it's inconsistent nature and map size. While you can play around this with skill, knowledge, and a good float spawn in H1Z1, The Culling does the job properly i would argue. Example: You spawn close to start-gear you can build, based on F.U.N.C points (nano particles) which lets you explore 3-4 angles of the game instantly. Trapping, poison darts, blunt weaponry, bow and arrow and more. In H1Z1 though, even if you get to a good location it might be dominated by someone that got the only rifle at said area. This is assuming you even got a spawn that is close to where there is decent or a lot of loot. The consistency of getting weapons in The Culling is thus a lot better since you spawn close to crates and buildings by default. Unlike in H1Z1, at times. And it takes 15seconds to just get to 1 good location normally once you spawn in The Culling. Combine that with how it is impossible to get "1-tapped" and you got yourself a game that brings a ton to the table in an interesting way. Combine this ALSO with good perks, planning, some map knowledge, and a mastery of tactics and mechanics and you suddenly got yourself a game you can win very frequently. Yes, The Tazer, Chainsaw, SMG and guns are incredibly powerful. Yes, explosives are insanely strong and YES SKILLED PLAYERS DOMINATE. However, it takes skills and knowledge to get to said point which means that it is up to you to carve your path trough terrain, fights, and random events in order to get a shot at victory. Hard to believe that this was put together by a 4-5 man dev team but oh man such is reality. So enjoy the insanity, maybe you will get lucky as well and get a free random drop that you can sell on the market for a lot too? This also happened to me after getting 73 victories, and i have basically earned back the game just by playing a lot and having a ton of fun.

Game comes with a practice mode, 2V2 and Free for all in a 16-man arena mode. If you can afford it, i'd recommend for you to pick it up asap. However if you are allergic to tactical play, some jungle running, looting and close-up combat then this game is not for you.

Main content score: 8,5/10. Very refreshing take on Battle Royale.

Total score: 8,8/10. The bloody corny mess of a game that is The Culling struck home with me. And do remember that i got well over 10.000 hours played of First Person Shooter games, so it should go well over with most people if someone as picky as I have clocked 73 victories after 58,5 hours, 12 days after release it's release. That's it for this review. Not sure, but i am VERY interested in making a YT channel about random builds, how-to's and such for new players that want to play this game and such. I mean i got 50K subs on 1 channel already so i will look at the possibility since i digg this game THAT much. Thanks for reading, rate it as you wish. Play smart and enjoy The culling!

As a game, it got too advanced and nitpicky puzzles at times. Those, you should get at the very end. Not the start.

As for the rest, it is not technically bad. So i would expect people that love unique puzzle games to like this game (also if time is not a factor).

HOWEVER, i will never support anything an arse of the type of phil phish has made. The man is a living joke on all levels, so vile in fact i would never give such a person a single dime for how he treated his fans and supporters. We are talking - If you say you dislike this game, he will tell you go rek yourself 3fold (I know, he is insane and doesn't hold back like an insecure baby that cannot handle someone else's opinion). Content: 5.5/10, with historic context: 1/10.

It's too good. Except i still would like better optional framerates from this game if possible. Not that it would be anymore, only other option is to upgrade if one want to maintain anything around 144fps/hz. Either way, worth it.

Multiplayer: Fairly ok, and great for people that love nice looking mindless fun. But beware, the developers could rarely but randomly ban you despite you having nothing to do with it - example: The famous accident where tons got bannes because 1 guy in a server cheated. Somethimes the other players had no idea either. And also, the cheats weren't that bad even. But suspensions and bans still landed. So check what is up before going in, still fun though. GL.

Old Gold. The most solid COD title to ever be on PC, despite the poor aging and un-competitive framerate. The story&campaign is also very well made, and surely will throw anyone off and give them a really awesome experience for what they are getting themselves into. Which by the way make almost every other campaign related to COD out there seem obsolete compared.

9/10 - Mainly because campaign games never really perform super well either way.

Finisher note: The COD franchise is pretty much dried up after MW3, coming from someone that has even cared to play the COD:AW one. But with a base line at 60 FPS, games like CS:GO give me what i deserve as a consumer more so than their 45-60 fps lameness. 200-300fps is where it is at on PC with CS nowdays, even though this unique blend sure has had it's good moments trough time.

Being a TRUE PCMasterrace gamer, there are a lot of important details that are worth mentioning about this game.

Framerate -|- Does it run well? Well, sort of. Like 60% better than DayZ approximately. At medium - low settings if you desire 144Hz/fps, you will get really close. On my 8350 overclocked 7970 rig (Well-tuned, stable) rig i get like 120fps on the fields, and 55-60fps in the city w/ people and such. My Game though is running at the lowest settings. But hey, it beats DayZ with a long shot in Battle Royale and such.

Optimization/infancy Stage -|- This game technically got a lot of unlocked potential. Everything from audio feedback when you take hits (lacking and at times even missleading), to the raw framerate being pushed higher OR the game just reacting to your key commands even snappier. Reality is that all of these aspects could and should be improved. But are already FAR away from being bad, which is a golden start.

Pay-To-Win? -|- NOPE. Not for Battle Royale at least. It is tempting for people to call in airdrops, but you still need to know what to do with your stuff in order to make it work. And anyone can steal it as well if you are not prepared, react fast, or don't know what you are doing with the drop. You might THINK that it means something. But in reality, a lot of elements in this game require smart play, skill and knowledge in order to make worth even from a nicely early looted sniper - Which comes with 20 bullets if you even get it in the first place. That's a lot of shots to miss with or to hit with.

But hey, the drop passes are super cheap on the market. Go for it if you want to, accuracy never hurt anyone.

Cheaters and Bugs -|- Gotta be honest with you there - Lot of minor bugs and cheaters roaming constantly in survival mode and BattleRoyale. Aside from survival's dull nature and grind-requiring nature that does not fit a player of my style though. I am not saying survival is bad, but it is being neglected right now AND is not my cup of tea at all really. But i am competitive in nature, so naturally i dissect and study that realm of gaming more than other things. I found that DayZ executed the survival aspect better, unlike my personal experience with survival in this game. Either way i am sure that as soon as this game get it's feet off of the ground in one way or another it's second nature will be as good as it's first one.

And i am typing that becuase it has already been done in Counter Strike: Global Offensive, sort of. Hostage mode and community mods are all giving a tight and awesome experience, which was not the case in the past. All we can then hope for is that H1Z1 follow in it's steps so it can go in it's own direction.

GL HF. Easier than DayZ to play/get into, but still hard enough even with it's similarities.

8.5/10 - Got skins to customize the game, could in the longer run re-pay itself if you/the game get more skins of value implemented into itself. Best Battle Royale experience out there to the date of editing this review (7 months into it now). Developers are constantly working on the game, updating it even faster than Counter Strike. Over-all quality is very good for an early-access game. So deep into it i doubt H1Z1 will ever become free to play (at least for Battle Royale) since cheaters is a common problem to face. Happy hunting!

Alright kids, this is coming from the guy that co-op played with Madog, the dude that got the highest prestige first.
I also normally played with Rageburns, a dude that switched me out with this "Orb" guy that was suckier than me, so that was great. Anyhow, here is the game review:
The game perform like ♥♥♥♥, and thus become a terrible experience despite how much more solid the game performs compared to Ghosts. It still cannot get close compared to Black Ops 2 however, being the most recent, best performing Call of Duty game to this date (Excluding the games that are so old, computers surpass them hardcore).
Overall, if this game actually got taken care of, it could become "something", but the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥ problem with call of duty is the matter of fact that a new, worse game gets released every year, leaving much to be desired when we ALL know that it would be infinitely better for 1 title to rather get updated, patched and balanced rather than being a terribly half-arsed, low performing game.

This is all coming from a guy that got 5000 hours recorded in FPS games and COD alone (Excluding the 2400 hours i have recently gotten in CS:GO, making the total about 7500Hours), and the evidence is that the hours are actually viewable on my steam game list.

Anyhow, this game got little to do on the PC if the frame rate cannot be set to reach an average of 200! Competitive PC gaming require a game that run like CS:GO, if not better... So Activision can re-think their cash cow or call it a day on the PC! CS:GO is taking over the world, and rightfully so.

Runs like crap. 65 field of view. No theater mode. A trillion settings in a menu that lags. I got a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 8 core overclocked, dual graphics card computer, and i still need to download a hack to get 90 fov allowed, and then, it lags hardcore? KK.
The game.... looks bediocre at best when being ran at max graphics? On my system that got 1050W supplied of pure, clean power, being ran with 16GB of crystalsharp RAM, limited by NOthing, and still, the entire ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PC freeze when a map is being loaded off of my 264MB/s SSD that was bought 5 months ago after release date?
Counter Strike: Global Offensive is EXPLODING. I have spent a couple of THOUSANDS of Krowns on that game. All which can be redeemed later. i have obtained a rank one supposedly need to spend YEARS to achieve.
You know what? The "new" Infinity Ward is trash compared to the previous team. This company has gotten their last chance. Up next comes SledgeHammer. Their standing is at least better. At least their game RAN on computers. At least the game HAD theater mode. At least they actually did their job making a PC version of the game. So unless Call of Duty take after Counter Strike Global Offensive, there will be absolutely NOTHING i am looking for in call of duty. This game as a product has absolutely repelled me to the highest of degrees, and i have now been absorbed up by a game that run at 300 frames per second in whatever field of view to be desired. A game that allow tick rates of either the instant 64, or the perfectly smooth 128 tick. A game that let me forcefully que for a lobby WITH LITTE TO NO lag. A game that actually require a LOT of skill into every single life you are served, and allow you to go from looking like a player without hands to a player that literary can take on ALL the enemies, and come out victorious countless times.

I hope whatever rat that is a "community manager" actually get a hold of this somehow, someday. Cause no other game has drained out nearly 2000 hours of me in less than 10 months, but CS:GO.
And i came from COD, being an annual, comitted PC player. Get a community manager TEAM, fu*k sake.
