This game can in a lot of way remind you of either portal or prey. It got a pretty solid and basic art style, along with fairly simple but eventually intricate controls. This, along with the goal of winning which in this game means to survive, or to destroy yourself, aside from side-goals which means unlocking new things. It leave the game very very unique, but also so unique, it's actually pretty great to those that enjoyed the formerly mentioned games.

What make things even better, is that the game expand on the first 2D entry in a stellar way. The map layout is literally the same but it's 3D. It followed all the same rules as their first entry. Extremely great work in design and mechanics there, item, cash, and interact-able objects spawn randomly along with most of the map design aside from some aspects of the maps at certain points. This make a lot of the maps fresh and interesting. And with there being a lot of maps you can get to as well, this give the game a lot more replay value than most games out there. But still, in a way that is refreshing to the player rather than being stale.

The graphics style isn't the most extreme i have ever seen out there, and i found that it's honestly "too good" for the game as it progresses in each run. Randomly, enemies spawn at a stronger and faster rate around you. This eventually will cause the game to lag and drag on to a pretty high degree and can therefore be a performance killer if you keep staying alive for a long time on a run. Because runs have essentially no real time-limit, this become a reminder of why it's often better to tune the game down rather than up in it's settings. Because here, you don't want to sacrifice your run to your framerate. Instead its therefore smarter to play the game at basic settings and go from there.

But the game got a knob to turn for everything, so that's 10/10 in terms of graphics from me. The game give you absolutely anything you'd ever need, in all aspects. The mechanics also become a solid 10/10. You can tell that the developers thought trough how they wanted to design these intricate mechanics for this game and it shows as you gain more powerups and smash whatever monster is coming for you with whatever character you chose or unlocked. The only thing the game somewhat lacks, would be an entertainment factor that is a bit wider.

This is essentially a rougelike styled 3D game based on their first title. But since it's an actionpacked shoot-fest, that's what you are going to get and little of anything else. There's plenty of lore and info to gain from the game itself, even logs hidden away in the strangest circular places and so on. Don't expect any major story elements to pull you in, it's going to be the other way around if anything. But to people that enjoyed the tinkering problem-solving aspects of portal 1/2, this game fits fairly well. To those that enjoyed the space-themed survival of Prey, the game will also fit pretty nicely. And with multiplayer, this game truly become a 9.5/10 to some. But to me it's really 10/10 because of my preferences.

So if your PC is mid-tier, you dare yo play with very low settings, or you get the game on sale, you will either way most likely enjoy this game and i really gotta say i am impressed by what the developers have been able to cram in there. That's about it, cheers.
