It's by no means difficult except for a few instances, however the story and fun array of weapons/skills to use (Glaive is OP) makes the core gameplay fun. It should take about 25-30 hours if you want to speed through the story, 35-40 if you want to 100% the game. Good luck with fishing.

Important lesson at the ending makes the journey worthwhile, plus you play as a dog god.
