This game makes me think of a cross between Heroes of Might and Magic and Total Annihilation: Kingdoms. It is sort of like if HoMM 5, 6, or 7 was any good at all. Great music, gorgeous environments, and an overall fun feel. The combat is alright, although I wish there was a separate volume slider for Combat Music. The lore is not immediately intriguing, I would say it is between HoMM, which had many years of ready-made lore folded into it, and Songs of Conquest which has good lore, but not professionally written or anything super special. If I had to time to devote to it, I am sure I could kill many hours playing Age of Wonders 3. If you're a fan of Civilization, Total War, HoMM, or if you're one of the six people on the planet that really loved the aesthetic of Total Annihilation: Kingdoms, then do yourself a favor and pick this game up.

A game like this that was Forgotten Realms or Dragonlance would be amazing.

Turns out he isn't hollow at all!

10/10 the best successor to Symphony of the Night to date. Add in the fact that it's based on a great anime, and it makes you barely miss the Castlevania aspects. Symphony of the Night is an eternal classic and we all hope Konami releases it on Steam soon with high-res remastered original PS1 sound and the levels from the Saturn version added in, but Wonder Labyrinth will tide you over. It scratches the itch even better than the GBA and DS games, which I would highly recommend as well. The biggest imperfection here is that you can't turn off the music without turning off all sounds, and I'd like to play the SotN soundtrack in the background, however, it's not too big a deal as Wonder Labyrinth has a great soundtrack, just not as good as SotN, but so few games/movies do. Other than that, there are really only very minor imperfections, overall the developers did an amazing job advancing what SotN and its sequels for the GBA did so well. The only thing I could really ask of the game is more of itself, but I'd rather have it be solid from start to finish than have it padded with a bunch of fluff like so many so-called "AAA" games do these days. It's just that Wonder Labyrinth is so fun to play I want more of it to explore and experience. Even though the game is a bit short, it has massive replayability and speedrunning potential. Wonder Labyrinth is worth every penny, and there is more great art and imagination in it than a dozen $60 modern "AAA" games. Gaming perfection.

Great remaster for a great game.

Denuvo causes the game to crash at times and kills the frame rate.

But this game is in many ways a worthy successor to Shenmue.

Not as good as Transformed, but worth it for some different levels.

It's not perfect but it's really good. If you're a fan of Total Annihilation or C&C Zero Hour and always wanted to get down in the dirt with your commandos, this game is for you. 7/10
