EA app required. Steam overlay doesn't work. Framerate is capped at 60 fps. Full of DLC / store locked content. Driving is terrible, there is a huge delay before your car starts steering and a delay before it stops steering, it completely destroys car handling and makes it difficult to drive.
Game in general is just completing events, there is no story / depth or anything meaningful to what you do. The inability to skip certain UI is also very jarring. 'Easy Drive' is really annoying on PC, you need to control it with a different set of key binds than arrow keys if you use those for driving.
All in all it's not very fun and it's definitely not in the same league as the master piece that was NFS:MW.

If you don't take this game too seriously it's a lot of fun ;)

Oof every time I try to play this game I just don't like it.
The graphics don't fit. There's not a lot going on in the levels and the particle effects of blood don't fit in at all, they look basically unlit. There is a robot talking to you in the beginning in a sort of quasi humoristic way giving you statistics about how demonic the place still is. The crude tutorials. It all really takes me out of it. It just has a really weird vibe. Shooting does not feel satisfying, it's all extremely fast and it has no impact.
You are out of ammo constantly and for some reason have to use a chainsaw to get ammo which is also out of fuel constantly, which is just extremely frustrating. There are all these weapon mods that I don't need.
The sound effects are terrible too. Everything has too loud pops and attaque that reminds me of dubstep or just too many mixed effects.
I retried the game in 2024, but it feels dated with low res textures and effects. There's just no point in playing it.

Uh, very good? Extremely smooth, extreme well executed cinematic game. Chapeau.

Compared to Dying Light 1, which was a great game, this just isn't fun. You start with so many cut scenes that constantly take you out of the action. Walking and combat feels very clunky. For some reason the devs thought it was fun to make you fall down walls you're climbing because that takes stamina.
The human enemies don't have interesting behavior, they stand still a lot and you don't feel the impact of your hits when you smash someone's head in. The swinging is slow, but the moment of impact is way too fast, if that makes sense. Besides that there were some weird jittering bugs going on too with the AI some times.
The key rebind menu crashes the game. For some things you need to hold the use button to pick them up, but picking up other items happens on key release, which is very annoying.
The ray tracing graphics are weird. With ray tracing outdoor environments get lighter, and indoor environments get darker and without ray tracing it's the other way around. The flashlight gets a really weird afterglow effect.
With ray tracing reflections you still have aweful screen space reflections on big bodies of water which looks really weird. And it doesn't look that much better, it just looks different. And you can halve your framerate of course without the mandatory glitchy upscaling.
I keep waiting after 2 hours to see if the actual game play gets any better, but it's just uninspired so far. I got an achievement during a cut scene for crying out loud. It makes no sense.

So would I have bought this game again? No. Huge disappointment.

EDIT:
So I tried the game again with the new patch. With DLSS 3 you can run it at 120fps at 4K, but it doesn't make it look better. The crash is still there. The gameplay is still incredibly boring and combat / movement still doesn't feel right.
Still disappointed :(

YES! It runs great, looks AMAZING and I don't get motion sick! This is the pinnacle of VR! Amazing to be back in the Half-Life universe again, fantastic job Valve!

One of the few games that look AMAZING in 4K. (i.e. not a blurry mess) Disable the motion blur and sharpening and add 8xMSAA and it's an absolutely phenomenal experience! Great music (not that electronic crap / popular crap) and the best soft body physics I've ever seen make this an absolute gem! Thank you BugBear!!!

It's nice to see Portal in VR. Those cubes are so big!

Too bad you can't throw them away, physics don't really work, but it's a nice little demo, though. (Too short!!)
