Early Access Review
This is not a positive review, it is a mixed review.

VRchat is ultimately one of the most creative boosting social gathering hubs in the modern age. It boasts thousands of unique hand crafted worlds, some which are full blown games that can and will pull you in for countless hours of fun and bonding experiences.

You can express yourself in not just world building but avatar creation, which with the right knowledge can become a money making practice all on its own with how detailed they can become. It fosters that type of creativity while also fostering some of the worst scum and degenerates the internet can cultivate in an unsupervised setting.

There are countless reviews on here telling you that this would be a perfect game if it were age gated, and that is for a reason. All of the fun you could have in a public setting is outright ruined by the racism, bigotry, sexism, and downright pedophilia that runs rampant in nearly all corners of the platform. It is worse in private instances, where grooming and manipulation is practiced constantly.

Do not under any circumstance allow your children to play this game, at all. I would advise you seek other activities, because the grooming on this platform is downright rampant. It is a cesspool of sexual deviancy and mental isolation that breeds bad coping mechanisms and escapism at its fullest.

If you were to open up an instance on a world during a weekend, or even some weekdays, you will often find drunk or high folk casually hitting on younger players out in the open- if not exposing them to terrible subject matter and off putting their world views with delusions of safety and comfort all in an effort to manipulate them.

If you have a friend group and only utilize this platform for fun among adult peers, all is grand. As you can spend countless hours exploring worlds and events that would rival Roblox in the amount of content there is to see.

I would highly suggest that if you are seeking to escape reality, or drown your sorrows in a game that on the outside appears to be a social hub that fosters the ability to speak and seek friends- you look elsewhere. As you will only find those who are too busy escaping themselves, drinking to a stupor, indulging in lust and gossip, and disgustingly more than often, pedophilia.

FF XIV Raid mechanics blended in with bullet hell mechanics and bunnies. Game scales from easy, normal, hard, and lunar. This game is mostly about being able to learn boss patterns, it is less about dodging bullets although that can be useful later on if you want to squeeze in extra damage.

This is more of a "Read the screen" game. Things are telegraphed and progress faster, with more to do as you climb difficulty.

Single player is different from multiplayer due to enemies having different moves depending on how many people are involved.

There are plenty of unique classes, some that feel worse than others, with melee and ranged being the two staples.

The rogue-like aspect comes from the item drops, and shop upgrades given to you in between stages.

Overall this is a unique and wonderful little gem. Do not be surprised if you try lunar difficulty and just wipe over and over. It is meant to be one of the hardest challenges the game has to offer.

Alright, cancel that. Community is amazing, fought back against Sony. Arrowhead has done well.

If you like L4D and Deeprock you'll fit in at home here. Its a third-person action co-op shooter where you blow bugs and robots up with friends and strangers alike.

HROT brings me back to a time where I could turn off critical thinking and just click on the things in front of me without a single other thought in my head.

Each level has a theme based on the name, enemies that are nonsensical, and a plot. Even after completion I still don't fully understand. And that's not the point- its a retro shooter.

Its clunky most of the time, silly half the time, and completely fun if you're not trying to take it too seriously.

If you think the asking price is to much, I understand, and think that you should wait for it to go on sale. Given I was able to complete what the game had to offer in 7 hours, I feel satisfied enough.

I only recommend this to folks looking for a more "old school" shooter that doesn't take itself serious.

i simp for Osvald more than i simp for my well being

------

That aside, this is one of my now favorite JRPG's of all time. Do yourself a favor and go into this completely blind.

Let yourself have fun, don't feel the need to play every characters chapter right off the bat. But do try to get through them all, as each character brings something unique, getting to know them specifically and why they are who they are is such a lovely addition.

Don't fret if you pick a main character you don't like, you are freely able to swap them out once you complete their story.

The amount of dialogue and NPC information is astounding. I was blown away with just how many unique encounters I had. How many random characters I was able to recognize, and why they matter. Plenty of happenstance moments where I either was laughing, having to re-read over a piece of information in sheer disbelief, or saddened.

This game invokes genuine emotion from me, and if a piece of media can do that, then I think its worth the review, and full price. There was true care put into this, and I'm not even completely done with the game yet. I've only managed to beat the main story, not all the other content the world has to offer.

If you've managed to read all the way to here, or just skipped, please just buy the game. Give it a chance, find the characters you like, and enjoy yourself.

It isn't a perfect experience. But it is one I absolutely loved. Thank you for this game.
