Game concept is fine, but it plays like a flash game that desperately tries to keep you playing.
The progression is very slow, and you will inevitably be power crept to force a restart. Then you get upgrades and repeat until you're too powerful to be stopped, and that's the entire replay loop of the game.
The story doesn't seem to be the focus of the game and is essentially cut down to dialogues between runs which I don't really mind at all.

I didn't finish the DLC but it seemingly takes the mentioned issues and triples their intensity.
That being said, a few minor additions and mod support would maybe lift the game up a bit.

Othercide

After an entire playthrough, I can say that the game's a great strategy. That is, if you're not here for the story. To keep this short;
The story itself, while not bad, seems rather lacking and you might end up forgetting what happened before you reach the next chapters.
In terms of characters, there's only a few to choose from, which means that at you'll be using almost the same setups every time you deploy.
The variety of enemies isn't too huge, but that's an issue of every game of this genre.

Overall, if you're looking for a game that demands constant planning and synergizing, don't mind some perma-death, and you're an xcom enjoyer, there's no reason why you shouldn't try this game out.

Darkest Dungeon is a great game.
At the start it might seem hard, but as you play, you'll realise how much of the content can be used up to your will.
I don't think you should listen to all the players that cry over how the game is rng based and you're always destinated to lose everyone. Sure, it uses rng, but you're given millions of options to increase your chances of winning, and I tell you, if you know how to play, you're capable of slapping up a brand new save, and finishing it without losing a single soul.

If you're running out of content, there are DLCs of a pretty good price for what they give.
Still not satisfied? Darkest Dungeon has a large and amazing community which has several modders that create loads and loads of outstanding content.

Starbound.
One of the best 2d games to ever exist I'd say.
We all would agree that it's the Terraria 2.0, wouldn't we?
Well, that's different, way different!

Passing to our review;
Starbound is a very entertaining and joyful game.
From an uncountible array of galactics and planets to a long-enough and amazing storyline.
Perfect usage of our beloved pixel arts, which is one of the first reasons why would I recommend this game.
There's a massive and I'd say infinite ammount of blocks which you can use for amazing buildings, and for intensifying your creativity.
The monsters are pretty great, and there's also loads of them.
But still. What would a 2d game be without weapons? Starbound has very much. Actually a full load of them.
From small daggers to the ability of making outragerous battle robots for you to help your adventure.
And for last, the music.
Starbound is a game, which unlike most of all other games has a massive collection of soundtracks which could give us around 7 hours of listening to pure masterpieces.

This is all I can say for my review, I would give a large 10/10 towards it.
I highly recommend it not to only those who like pixel art and 2d games, but to everyone.
