Insane ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game. My GOTY for 2024. Did my first run all in one sitting because I just got so hooked.

The visuals, music, just overall atmosphere is SO good. Genuinely one of the prettiest games I've played recently and GOD THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ BOSS THEMES ♥♥♥♥ SO HARD. PLEASE BUY THIS SOUNDTRACK YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.

The gameplay is fascinating. It's on the easier side of survival horror, but I don't think that's necessarily a negative. Just keep expectations low and try to vibe with the almost more... On rails shooter style combat, in a way. I ♥♥♥♥ with it pretty hard.

The story is great. The themes of moving forward, compromising differences, communicating with your partner, and more all hit super hard for me personally and while short, I think the game does a good job characterizing a lot of the key cast members and the story is paced pretty well.

Most of the level design isn't bad by any means, but it won't blow you away. I mostly forgive this though because a) like i said it's still solid and b) the visuals and vibes of each level are still top notch, so they are memorable in their own great way.

The boss fights are pretty damn fun. The first one is a bit too trivial even as a tutorial boss if I'm being honest, but everyone after that was a close call even though I didn't die to them. They all have pretty unique movesets and ESPECIALLY the final boss is a beautiful fight with just SUCH cool set design I love it so much.

There are several endings available from what I can tell, and I am SURE to go back and get both those and the collectables I missed. I absolutely will be 100% this gem.

I think anyone can enjoy this game, but as a long time survival horror fan, I can see this especially being a GREAT introductory game for people new to the genre. Not too punishing on resources but still great at rewarding exploration, decent creepy atmosphere but won't jumpscare you cheaply, and great occasional humour the break tension for anyone that gets scared easily. This has been a GREAT year for survival horror.

9.5/10, I am VERY excited to see what this studio does next.

I've been a backer for Star Fetchers for what, 3 years now? And I have yet to even feel a moment of doubt or remorse in that backing, and this bonus mode has only made me even more excited to see more of this world. It is a BLAST to play, so similar and reminiscent of the main games prologue gameplay, yet SO fresh and new at the same time. I HIGHLY recommend anyone and everyone to try this thing out, try the base game's prologue out, (it's FREE!) and keep track of when episode one drops because everything so far has been 10/10.

I had paragraphs written about this DLC and how it made me sad. And how I was worried Gearbox wouldnt fix things. Ever.

But I was wrong, if this first roadmap update is anything to by. They pretty much fixed all my issues with items, and fixed a ton of the bugs a couple updates before, and according to them these updates are just going to keep on going.

So I'm relieved, and I have a lot more faith in Gearbox when it comes to the future of this game.

they are sorely mistaken. this game is an absolute blast to play so far from the first couple hours i've played, the movement is smooth, the combat is mostly pretty solid, the rep collect mechanic is interesting, and overall I really don't have much negative to say. Apparently some people have had performance issues? i am running on basically max everything and have had no issues what so ever.

A couple creature designs I've seen so far like the big prologue boss and the Hosts in the coffee shops have really caught my attention they're so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cool, and the music of the game so far is quite fantastic.

so anyway yeah bald men that get red in the face whenever a black person exists can [REDACTED] this game rocks so far, excited to play more when I get home from my job tomorrow, something none of those 35 year old man children have.
