a great game in the spirit of Dark Souls 3, with some of the frustration/moments of relief of looking for a bonfire stacked with souls replaced into dungeons and a ton of bosses and mini-bosses, and the very common case of stumbling into an area you're way too under-leveled for.

The great things from the souls games combined with a truly open-world feeling, no one is holding your hands throughout the game (although I'd admit that in the very beginning I needed to open the wiki to get a sense of what I should be doing because I felt helpless and lost).

Sadly, some performance issues, even with a RTX 3070, mainly happening in some optional bosses and when entering new, massive areas of the map, but nothing too bad - just lower the graphic settings if it persists until you move a bit & you should be fine, until they fix it, that is.

A rather good city-building game, with over-all good mechanics (although sometimes the villagers tend to get lost and not do their assigned job, but it can be worked around).
The devs sure care about the game and keep updating it and trying to improve, which is something worth acknowledging.

Pretty fun experience, although with some flaws - overall what I expected when playing a Doom game.

The last level environment design was god-awful, getting stuck and slowed by scuffed terrain during the massive fights, but other than that the rest was pretty smooth and enjoyable.
Took me roughly 13-14 hours to finish the game on 2nd hardest difficulty, so I wouldn't say its a really long campaign, but not too short either.

Easy to get into, relaxing time-passer

Coming back to play this game 5 years after its release, and to be frank - with some mods to sharpen to graphics a bit (4k textures and a shader) its quite a nice looking game.
On the gameplay side though, it was hard to get going in the starting 10 hours, but once past that and with a somewhat decent grip of the game mechanics, I can understand why this game was considered a masterpiece back in the day and I will still recommend it nowadays, with some tops to polish things out (its been 5 years after all, graphics have improved just a little bit during that time).

edit: after ~100 hours on this game, I can say with absolute certainty that this game is the best RPG game out there, even almost 6 years after its release.

although buggy and containing some glitches, the game at it's core is still good, immersive and interesting. Once it's all patched-out, it's gonna be great.

A bit repetitive, but a fun and easy-to-get-into game
