I don't like how they made a remake of just the first one, it wasn't even the best one compared to others. It would have been better just to make a new entry to the series with new weapons and everything. But since they didn't do that, I'd be almost expectant of them to remake the others too.The graphics also kinda suck. Everything is super saturated with bloom and god rays (which I turned off later in the .ini files) and the new models for characters are kinda sucky. Crypto himself looks more like a celebrity recast with a facelift, which might be a good bit of irony, but he still had way more character on the PS2 because the jagged angles complemented his iconic evil smile, while here you can't even tell what he's thinking with that glossed over glare. The other humans were given a more cartoony caricature look too, which I think they did later on to make them fit into the higher resolution environment. They might have overdone it a bit though. The animation in cutscenes sucks, a lot of it was smoothed over to try to make it feel more 'natural' I guess but everyone just moves at the same speed no matter what emotion is being portrayed. In the PS2 version, you actually see Crypto have an angry breakdown in front of pox in the intro cutscene. Here, he just turns his head like he's pacing and the camera cuts a lot to make you think he's moving. One last final bit, a lot of audio was just taken out of the original game, so that also hurts the cruddy animation a bit, but they also had to bring Invader Zim himself back for more bonus mission dialogue, so you'll have some weird shifts in fidelity. He also sounds a bit old or tired to be doing the iconic voice anymore, so sometimes he'd do the flamboyant emphasis but squeak it out and it just made me feel kinda bad for him and want to give him a break. No disrespect to his career of course, he still did a decent job.So in terms of graphics, it's a pretty bad remake, but with gameplay, it's actually a pretty good upgrade from the original. Moving Crypto around in PS2 Land was like dragging around a garbage bag while drunk, and you could only ever fire your weapon and move at the most. Here Crypto gets to do all the cool dynamic movement and jumping he really deserved, and you can pick up a guy with TK and toss him at a tank while firing and ridding your jetpack through the air all at once and it's amazing, as it should be. A lot of weapons were reworked to be better but worse in parts though. The Zap-o-matic gets a huge upgrade, but it's now the only weapon I'd use half the time as it just became a DPS lazer with infinite ammo, and the Disintegrator ray just became this thing that shot heat seeking fireballs (how even) as opposed to the cool plasma gun from Doom 16 type thing it was. The Probe should have been removed all together, that's all. I think the Ion Detonator got nerfed, but I can't remember what it was originally like. Now it's this weird charge up distance thing that only goes half as far as it did, but you can still manually detonate it so that's cool. The saucer weapons are worse. The death ray is pretty much just the Zap-o-matic taped to the front of the Saucer, so it ends up being more flashy than it is an actual DEATH RAY. Neither the death ray or the Sonic Boom can take down a building any quicker than like 10 seconds, even with full upgrades, so you can't level half the town anymore in a few minutes like you could on the PS2. There's also way more stuff that attacks you in the saucer, like missiles which are nearly impossible to reflect in time given the game's default crappy FOV. I also don't get why they didn't add in the cloak for your saucer, just to give you a break from all the missiles.Either way, it's still a fun game. Go kill em all!

To skip over all the other reviews saying this game is like drugs or feeling like a melting ice cream or whatever, all I can say is Hylics 2 is one of the most beautiful and meaningful games to come out in the new decade. A lot of games that go for this weird artistic style usually just stick to being weird and that's it, while Hylics actually has a theme and a story, which the second game gives some more very interesting lore and world building with both the sparse dialogue and visual elements it provides. It also has a GOD TIER soundtrack that may get a bit grading after a while of just listening to it on its own, but it surprisingly compliments the game on an impossibly good level. The revamped combat system has its ups and downs from the normal RPGM standards, such as not having any clear turns or initiative order, but the simplistic design and mind blowing visuals easily make up for it, even if you can't tell what some of those visuals are. Platforming could obviously be done better, but it's good for what it is and fits to the world despite the world itself being a tangled mess. All of this combines into an amazing feeling when you finally go to kick Gibby's ass, and you feel the same grand steaks the characters probably do.

And that is why wearing nothing but a red poncho, leather boots, and a skull crown makes Somsnosa is the best meta waifu.

Reminds me a lot of Jack King-Spooner's work. The soundtrack is really relaxing and lethargic with all the steel guitar. Gameplay itself was confusing at first, because 'lel abstract,' but it works.

One of the most solid games. Period. How Solid? Solid as metal. Bad puns aside, one of the best games from the early 2010s. I always find the mentality of rock music to be a bit goofy, but at least here it's never annoying, and it's only fun and lively. People egg on Halo for its simplistic yet effective atmosphere, but I don't think you can do better than this.

Anmeldelse fra tidlig tilgang
Edit: Apparently this game was just made with all the cut scraps from the previous game, which kinda reminds me of why DMC 2 was so bad. I'm not changing my score because of that, however, I am changing it because it's still a decent continuation in my book, and it's certainly better than other games I've played. I just wish story development stayed consistent so that each new game you have to start doesn't feel as jarring.

The first Subnautica was a Masterpiece and a wonderful work of art for a game. This game feels like someone's younger sister picked up the project files and tried to make this cool DLC but got way too ambitious with trying to make it a whole other game, and every update feels like they dropped their hard drive on the floor one more time for a 'patch.' I would've recommended this game cause it seemed to have some cool interesting stuff similar to Subnautica before, just with ice, but now the game just hard crashes my PC every time I start a new save.

TLDR: This game was free and I still want a refund.

It's a cool little college project of a unity title, and the character design is ok, but I think that's about it. I've seen this puzzle mechanic in old spongebob games from '04 on shareware disc collections. Dark humor isn't for me either, so a lot of the payoff in dialogue felt really dull, and what little story there was just constantly acted as if it didn't want me to take it seriously at all then. Also a bit of spoilers: This game just goes from being 8 puzzles to some bullet hell section where you're still restricted to the grid, so a lot of movement during then is just horrible, and it becomes such a shift in tone that it almost kills the game instantly.

This game has a lot of cool stuff for a stealth game, but not very much depth. One of the first games I played on Xbone, played through again to commemorate my dad. A lot of this game seems to start the trend as well of videogames being written like Netflix movies, though really cheaply made, as some of the dialogue doesn't even sync to the cutscenes properly, and the game begins to chug a bit during them as well. A lot of this game has ok visuals, but there's very little actual design in gameplay space, and a lot of things can actually get lost in the backdrop visual detailing put everywhere. The game doesn't control that well seeing as how everything was made for console, and even then I remember this being hard to control with a gamepad. I don't see why I need to press any other button than W to walk off a ledge, and I hate when my cover is blown because my character randomly decides to peak around a corner and step into the light when I wanna pick up a pair of scissors worth $5. I've also fallen a few times off of ledges where the platforming is scripted, but suddenly puts me back into normal movement just to fall into a pit because the elevator vent bugged out its clipping. Direction in this game is really bad as well. It's hard to explore sometimes because the game constantly strings you along, and exploring too much, besides being discouraged by the game's difficulty, will end up sequence breaking certain parts of the game. A lot of times I'll also leave a level with only collecting half the 'available loot' because of how difficult or janky it can be to explore everything fully when the game puts up checkpoint invisible walls everywhere.

The game is ok overall, wouldn't play it for anything other than to fill your stealth game raster or some cool world design. Go into the .ini files and tweak some graphics as well before playing, as some options aren't listed in any menus. This would be way better if it wasn't a graphics/story splurge for Xbone and reworked from the ground up to be a much simpler stealthing experience.

This is probably by far the cosiest game to play, and I don't just talk out of nostalgia. Sure, the game's old engine makes it kind of awkward to play, but this is really the only open world game where I know the map like the back of my hand. I'm glad there's a team of modders out there trying to revitalize this by rebuilding the world of New Vegas in the newer engine for Fallout 4. Perhaps then the game will be near perfect! (They might not be doing the DLC's until 2027 actually hits though...)

It's a slow slow start, but every bit of this game is charming in little ways. For an older engine it's still pretty good for an fps system as well, just not in any other way like using guns or moving boxes. A lot of the atmosphere here is cool and calming for how grand the themes are, though you still feel more and more that they just made up whatever as they went along, as some levels feel pointless and could be cut from the game with minimal effect on story or gameplay. The story is interesting too if you pay half attention, though a lot of it makes no sense when it starts drawing parallels from the real world and referencing stuff that it expects you to already know. (Even by just the start of the game.) I actually like the matrix rip-off aesthetic as well and all the memes.

I played Bloodborne before and thought it was fun so I eventually got this when my friend wouldn't shut up about it then. I still miss Bloodborne's atmosphere, but I love how much more this game seems to offer. Sometimes the fantasy style is a bit overkill though, and a lot of enemies are fundamentally designed to be cheap.
