Excellent hotline miami like, really fantastic voice acting, the whole game oozes samurai champloo style and humor. Also the dev is really responsive and patched in a qol feature I asked for on day 1 of the demo.

This game is incredible. I've always been a fan of deckbuilder roguelikes and chess, and not only did they nail that fusion of cardplay and geometric strategy they also hit one of my favorite little mechanical pleasure points - hitpointless game design. The game does a lot without ever making me have to worry about +25% damage for a 6 damage attack.

I've played a lot of deckbuilders in the last few years but this one maybe scratches my "can't wait to boot it up again, just one more run" itch better than any other I can think of? Also I read a review somewhere saying the story is whatever which sounds insane to me because this deckbuilder maybe has the most story and best story of roguelike deckbuilders I've played through outside griftlands.

Anyway I'm rambling: it's good. Play it.

This game is excellent. I really hope it blows up. I want like ten times as much content and it's already got so much.

Absolutely incredible. My first metroidvania, and I'm glad for it. The price is worth it for the final fight alone.

It's an ffxiv raid roguelike. It's exactly as good as it sounds and looks. I love it.

This game is truly excellent. I'd considered it a curiosity, a novelty, when I first saw it in my feeds and poked at the demo. A card game roguelike built like reigns or tinder, how cute.

But then I got it as a birthday gift and oh my god this may be my favorite card roguelike ever? Maybe? It's up there, up there with Astrea. It's just so incredibly deep, there are all these little flourishes that surprise me and blow me away and make me fall in love. There are things I want to share but I shouldn't, because they're spoilers, but just know: there _are_ spoilers.

It kinda blows me away that this game has mixed reviews, and so many people are complaining about the game's difficulty. I love it. This isn't a game for mindlessly swiping through before hitting the real challenge on higher ascension tiers, you really do have to think carefully, play the odds, and pick fights carefully in order to win a run. It's heady, and super strategic, and the moment to moment cardplay just tells an incredible story - I think this game blows every other card based roguelike out of the water for enemy design. Slay the Spire and its children throw up abbreviated intent signals over enemy heads - but here, each enemy is this whole other deck of cards spliced into your own, a deck you can pour through, plan through, scout up and down its upgrade trees. When you start a fight, you know -every- effect on the field, you know exactly what you're facing, and it's still going to kick your ass. That's lovely.

I would definitely recommend this game.

Edit: ugh, I feel I have to edit this. I only just learned the game extensively uses AI art. I'm kind of frustrated, this game feels mechanically and narratively brilliant, but I don't feel comfortable recommending a product that relies on AI art.

This game is honestly incredible, it's quickly become my favorite date night experience with my bf. If you enjoy the idea of a long quiet rpg about journeys with no map markers where you have to track your food and fuel and ask people for directions, and camp under the stars with a friend, then this is the game for you.

Early Access Review
This game has been absolutely refined through years and years of playtesting and polishing and it really shows. I've always loved unusual roguelikes, and I was a big fan of As Far As The Eye, but this game is easily the best roguelike strategy game on the market even in early access at this point and has eaten my brain for weeks now. It just thrums with this board-game style energy, where you dive in for 2-3 hours of a tense match of Spirit Island or a similar PvE game - that excellent pacing where you start wary and move to feeling like you have no idea how you're gonna get yourself out of this new jam before finally winning with the skin of your teeth. I strongly encourage playing at the highest difficulty you can win at.

Strive is honestly just incredible. Kind of the perfect fighting game as far as I'm concerned, motion inputs aside. I think it's the most accessible most stylish fighting-game-worth-investing-in out on the market right now. It'll get you playing with intentionality and then rocking out to your own personal rock anthem while you kick people through walls.
