Atmospherically, this game is great, even though it's relatively simple. Gameplay-wise, it's quite involved. The item RNG will have you think twice about your next move, or if you're like me, say "eff it" and take the next straight shot to the face.
The multiplayer aspect is also great, both with friends or in public lobbies.

Even though it's marked as "Horror", I feel like it's quite comedic at times - multiplayer interactions got a good laugh out of me, and I also had a few "yeah, that one's on me, take the shot" moments.

Don't bother.
After the tutorial, it's near-impossible to get anything done or any enjoyment out of this game unless you have a squad.

This game will test your resolve.

You will lose without a chance of recovery, and it will happen various times. You'll get frustrated, you'll reset saves, maybe even rage, but that... is part of the game.
But when you come out victorious, it's a nice feeling, even if your units aren't looking so good.

From the few hours I've played it, and for being a 6-year-old game, Darkest Dungeon is quite the experience - but I recommend playing it in bursts, maybe one expedition per play session, in order to avoid frustration and potential burnout.

Early Access Review
Bought it around 2015 on discount for 4,99€ while under the hype and because I had played the demo- never was able to get in-depth with it on the small amount of playtime I have.
It ended up forgotten in my Steam Library, and I've never touched it again since.
Seeing it still in Early Access after 4 years with updates starting in "0.XX" is also disheartening.
Unfortunately, I can't get a refund, but if I could, I would.

I will start off by saying this: I have a small amount of playtime here, but I had played the game for a large amount of time before it came to Steam - I even participated on the open beta. With that said, let's get on with it.

Wildstar had promise and a great premise - to be a serious hardcore game that didn't take itself seriously (in a good way), made by ex-Blizzard employees.
Two warring factions, the Exiles and the Dominion, fighting to see which ends up with total control of a newfound, habitable planet - The Nexus.
Both had 4 races to choose from: The Exiles had Human, Aurin, Mordesh and Granok, while the Dominion had Cassian, Mechari, Draken and Chua. The slightly cartoony feel with the sci-fi theme somehow made an amazing combination, which made the game feel great to play. Great controls, good combat, a variety of class, specialization and skill combinations and more hardly seen before in other MMOs helped it cement its place in history even more.
The main problem this game had... was the lack of advertisement. Combined with the tension between members of Carbine Studios, and things started falling apart - slowly, but surely.

With only a few hours to live as of the writing of this analysis, Wildstar is still as amazing as it was before. It is sad to see this game go like this.

Before I bought it, I had this game "in the corner of my eye", so to speak - I knew about it, but I hadn't gone ahead and bought it - but after a recommendation from a friend, I went ahead.
Suffice to say, the game hooked me, and I played for a good while afterwards. Then I kept playing it in a "one chapter a day" method.
Great visuals, equally great sound direction and gameplay, and an amazing story make this a great game.
If you are into this genre of game, I suggest giving a try.

I picked this game for the items, but it dragged me in with its charm.

You are able to play against 4 AI opponents in Texas Hold 'Em or Omaha Hold 'Em, and each of the opponents have their quirks and personalities. After paying enough attention to them, you'll be able to know when they're bluffing or just being straight-up crazy, and you'll be winning (or losing nonstop).

The banter between the characters, combined with the environment and the smooth music, makes this game fun. And it's not always that you can say you're playing virtual no-risk poker with a bodyguard, a robot, a time traveller and an antropomorphic dog.

If you're looking for a regular game here, stop right now. If not, keep reading.
Saints Row: The Third is a game that makes you constantly ask "What in the world am I playing?", while you steal cars from people dressed in animal suits, while you yourself are in one, all while you fight off members from one of the three Steelport-controlling gangs.
It has passed the test of time, as I stil discover spots of the city I've never seen before and is still fun after 5 years. This isn't your regular open-world game. It's a mad world out there, and you gotta be equally mad.

What else can be said that hasn't been said already?

Botters and cheaters run amok in Casual servers, commit crimes, and more, and the playerbase is supposed to just... take it?

No more.

An MMO meets meets a dungeon crawler, customization, weapons and some other things. Spiral Knights is the outcome. A wonderful game for those who played dungeon crawlers before. This is what I wrote in my review more than 3 years ago, in the 31st of January, 2012. I'm now revising it to the current state of the game.

When I played this game back in 2011, it was great. Sure, if you wanted to play more, you had to wait for the energy system to recharge your Mist Energy, same if you wanted to craft something. After the big update that changed the game to not use that system, I feel it became a grindfest. Want to get better weapons? Grind like a madman for Heat Crystals or BUY THEM. Which brings me to the next point. After that big update and some DLCs for missions, there was no more decent content, just constant reactivations and deactivations of past content, as well as CONSTANT COSMETIC RELEASES. Mostly reskins or retextures of stuff they created before.

Fact is, SEGA and Three Rings have completely lost their way with this game. I'd have kept playing if there was any real content that didn't require a constant grindfest as well, but we live in a society in which people have jobs and do other things than play a single game all the time. Their grindfest model and lack of real content addition has made the game become stale, which is why a lot of people are leaving, with only the sheep staying around in their herd in the middle of a barren wasteland.

Spiral Knights is no longer a game to me, it's a chore. And nobody in their right mind plays a game to be faced with a chore instead of fun.
