Alright let me be clear when starting this out that, this game legally owns my soul. The hours I've put in should clue you in on that.

I'll try and break down everything as best I can to give you a good idea on what's going on.

Basics:
This is a Player vs Environment vs Player (PvEvP) game, it's not a battle royale like some may tell you. It has a mode similar to a battle royale in the form of quick play, which is something I have little experience in. The main draw of the game though is bounty hunt, you have the objective of getting a bounty target banished, taking their token(s) and extracting. The purpose is not to kill other players, and there will be matches where you won't see anyone else. Your one and only goal is to get the token and leave.

Now, you may be asking "what's a boss like?" Well there's 4 in total in the game as of this review. I'll cover all of them in a moment. The main thing to note is that a match can start with 1 boss or 2, the map will be divided by lines drawn where the bosses can be. Each boss has 3 clues you have to find before you can learn it's location, or you can stumble upon it accidentally by looking for clues. If you get really lucky you'll spawn at it.

Stealth is your BIGGEST ally in this game, staying low and quiet will keep you alive and in the fight far more often than not. Taking your time can be extremely worth it, as can rushing in. You'll learn as you go, I'd give more details but it's hard to do without typing a documentary.

Bosses:

The Butcher - Starting with the simple one and the one in the tutorial, this guy is a variation of a map enemy you'll grow to know. He's immune to fire damage, deals fire damage, and is overall fairly tanky. You can use choke bombs to strip him of his ability to set you on fire, poison, and melee weapons such as axes and hammers work well against him. Explosives do too.

The Assassin - This guy is either a breeze or a pain in the ass depending on what you came in with. Melee is his biggest weakness and that means you'll rarely know he's being killed until he's already being banished. Fire and poison also work well, poison crossbow bolts make him a breeze. The big red spot on his chest is also a weakspot for firearms. Explosions are very ineffective against him unless you can time them properly.

The Spider - Creepy Crawly on a whole new level, this guy is made of corpses btw. He's also immune to poison, but fire and melee weapons work wonders, explosives are good if you can hit he skittish bastard. Once he's lost enough health to get angry your best bet is to get out of his building and wait for him to cool off.

Scrapbeak - This guy is the special one of the bunch, fighting him is easy if you bring fire and explosives, but the problem is you're destroying all of his loot that he can drop. His compound has no ammo, health, or anything else to loot. Everything is on him, literally. He's immune to damage from the back, and doesn't have a big weakness to melee. Throwing axes can be used to chunk his health and stun him at key moments, but poison crossbow bolts and bombs are your friend here above all else.

But should I buy the game?

I can't answer that question for you directly. It's not a game for everyone, people have complained the matches are too slow and the guns are sluggish. I've heard that it's just a worse version of tarkov, or that it's too competitive. All in all these aren't things I can see, except the tarkov one. If I were to compare it to any game on the market that I know of Tarkov is closest.

My best advice to you is to give it a shot, learning the guns is your first priority. Every weapon is a bit different, some are similar but no two guns are exactly the same. Play styles differ but find what works for you.

My rating is simple. I recommend it. It needs love and new players, I'd rate it 9/10 there are ways I'd improve but it's a great game that I've become addicted to.
