A classic

I wanted to like this game so bad, I slowly went from being extremely pessimistic about the next Halo, after Halo 5: Guardians, and grew more optimistic closer to the launch of Halo: Infinite. I'm not as old a fan as most, I start playing with Reach and went back playing through the rest of Bungie's Halo's, I bring this up because I wanted to give 343i a fair shake I was excited for Halo:4 and disappointed with it after launch, it became way too much like CoD and did not feel like Halo. Fine the studio is new they'll grow into the Halo franchise, then came Halo:5, the weekend after release I spent the night at my friend's he had the Xbox One, I did not, so we both waited to play campaign together, and I think you get the idea here. Most importantly above all else Halo's 4 and 5 did not feel like Halo: The art style, different why? nano bots...; Local Coop, gone, a feature being a staple since Halo:CE and improved on in Halo:3 on upping it to 4 players; Loot boxes and Microtransactions, just why? Halo is the AAA game, I may not have played Halo: 3 when it released but I certainly remember its launch, Halo DOES NOT need microtransactions ESPECIALLY in the way they're implemented currently, and if you're concerned? Well 343i gave you a "funny" video where Ron Swanson mocks you for questioning it saying "Shut your pie hole, The Grownups are talking"; there are many other reasons I was pessimistic prior to Halo: Infinite's launch, such as Halo:MCC's launch and years after, but despite all of this I was excited, then the multiplayer was announced as free to play, immediately I was concerned because there are very few decent free to play games and I knew the monetization was gonna be aggressive, then I later learned it was going to be a live service game and became even more concerned. But despite that, I was still excited, the campaign came out and it was easily the best Halo campaign since Reach, it was bare bones sure and I wasn't too big a fan of the ending, but it felt like Halo, something I couldn't say for their other campaigns, and I do not regret my time on Zeta Halo. The multiplayer on the other hand I was not too big a fan, the gameplay was ok but average and had very few gamemodes, my friends and I played it for all of a week and a half and went back to MCC, there was all the content on Infinite and more on it as well as many more nostalgic maps. As many who read this will know Halo: Infinite's roadmap has been delay after delay after delay, now at the time of writing this 343i shortly prior has announced the cancellation of local Coop, for me this has been the final straw and I cannot recommend this game as fan of the Original Style of Halo games that made the series what it was, 343i has proven to me again and again that it continues to fail to create and manage a game in the Halo franchise and while the review will most likely be dumped into the review bomb group, I am only writing this now due to the recent announcement cancelling local coop cementing my negative opinion of Halo: Infinite.
