"I'll have someone's ass for dinner!" -Sergeant Arch Dornan

Welcome to the Mojave Wasteland, where the Boomers more or less lob artillery shells on sight and Legate Lanius can insta-decapitate you with one hit!

Story
After being shot in the head by BennyBoi, you, the Courier, must track him down, and ultimately must decide the fate of the Mojave Wasteland.

I know, I know, it sounds very ridiculous, but in execution, it's some great storytelling. The game is very open-ended, and the the way the quests are completed are mostly up to you, which allows for a lot of player freedom in the game. The writing is also very well done. I won't go too much into the story cuz spoilers, but basically there's main two factions: the New California Republic and Caesar's Legion, who fought for control of Hoover Dam in 2277. Somewhere in the middle is the small nation-state of New Vegas, run by Mr. House. I'll leave it up to you to experience the story itself.

Visuals
Let's face it, the visuals......haven't exactly aged like fine wine, but they still look pretty good if you bump it up to ultra settings.

Gameplay
I think there is a lot of depth in the gameplay. I especially like the V.A.T.S. system introduced in Fallout 3. It takes some getting used to at first, but there's several hours of fun to be had once you get the hang of things.

Final Verdict
I think in general the Fallout games are just simply great in their own ways, and honestly, New Vegas is up there with Mass Effect 2 as one of the best role-playing games of this decade. You can really tell Obsidian kicked ass back in the day. I'll leave Fallout: New Vegas with a score of 9/10. I definitely recommend picking it up today, it's only like ten bucks on Steam.

One more thing: MODS!!!!!!
