Doesn't seem to be any region settings for the competitive, meaning one game you'll fighting vs 20-40ms ping, and the next one you have the persons ping is 500-1000ms and is unplayable. Game seems ok if not going to play competitive, but don't bother with competitive until regions or ping filters are added.
