Fix the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ servers! The game it's unplayable at the current state!!!

PREVIOUS ANALYSIS:

Be warned, this is not the fun and enticing card game of our childhood, which anime we grew up with.

Yugioh grew to become this flawed, unbalanced and unfair card game, with a lot of combos that are frankly unbeatable unless you have the exact deck structured to counter it. With too many new rules, it’s not rare for those who hadn’t been up with the franchise to be overwhelmed and even ridiculously beaten in less than five turns of duel.

If you’re willing to accept those, you might find some fun in this ultracompetitive and toxic to newcomers game. The singleplayer mode is still there too, and might just do it until you’re familiar enough with everything new to have a fair shot in competitive (given that you mindfully built a well-structured deck).

The cards are really accessible (specially through synthesis), though. Even if not EVERY CARD in the TCG is available, the most popular ones are out there. Trust me, this is an issue since multiplayer is simply unplayable unless you have championship-level structured decks UP TO DATE (apparently, every year or so the current builds are rendered useless and not by nerfing, but by the release of even stupidly stronger cards and archetypes – and that might just explain how the we get here in first place). I think it’s clear enough about how you need to mindfully invest in the right cards, otherwise you’d be stuck in singleplayer forever; newcomers, do you research and be sure to google and youtube strategies and decks before spending your gems (you may find they’re easy to come, but I assure that is just for the beginning of your journey – they’ll be as rare as water in the desert as you progress).

About pay-to-win, it’s certainly there. But the game only has a single currency, so there is not one thing that can be bought with real money that you can’t just grind and farm to obtain. And it’s really not as exhausting as it might sound; the game is really rewardable, specially if you manage to get a fair share of victories in competitive. So, basically, you can get the same things as the preps with daddy’s credit card simply by playing and having fun (if you’re able to, considering everything). And, honestly, there’s not much to do in the game besides the endless circle of winning and improving your deck with the gems you got from it – as far as I’m concerned, those who pay to win are just throwing away what motivates you to keep playing.

So, if you menage to have fun in this vicious game, go ahead and have a good time. Just be ready to accept the Yugioh TCG as it is and that is not going to change drastically anytime soon. And that this is a game made for competitive players, people whose life is to play children card games and are willing to take it a little bit too serious. It’s not a game for casuals and people that used to love and binge the anime. But since it’s a free game, I would say that is worth a shot and a try-out; if it’s not exactly your cup of tea, just uninstall it.

I would tell y’all to trust the heart of the cards, but this is not the game for it.
