The only people who probably wouldn't like this game probably don't like racing games. And even then, the soccer fans probably like this game anyway.

Great game, great gift.
10/10

Fantastic game with incredible charm for people both new and old to its genre. Beautiful music and character development, and an unparalleled level of narrative depth for something of its ilk.

Do not judge this game or its spinoff Deltarune by its fandom. In fact, avoid them at all costs. Go offline in Steam before starting this game if you have to.

Reasons to buy this game:
1. BEST ELEVATOR MUSIC EVER
2. BEST MUSIC EVER FOR A GAME EVER
3. Fastest gameplay that I have ever been able to play, its like a shot of adrenaline!!
4. It's like $2. (0.99 for the Xmas sale right now)
5. Quick to learn, Hard to master, Impossible to put down.
6. You get to choose your own choice of f'ing songs to listen to during the game.
7. Gameplay never seems to end, always new fun stuff to do!!
8. BEST MUSIC
9. Looks perfect in graphics, its pixelated textures run easily at 120+fps and render that way!
10. Each level presents a new, creative challenge, different from the ones before.
11. Eventual objective is simple: Kill absolutely everything, and don't let them kill you.
12. Did I mention that it has THE BEST MUSIC POSSIBLE FOR THIS GAME?

Just buy it, seriously. You know that you have at least $2 from uneven price and purchases in Steam Wallet.

Seriously, if you seriously don't have this game in the five years that it's been out, there's no excuse for you to not get it. Unless you're broke.

What do I need to say? Hmm, I've been killed by the Kool-Aid guy busting through a wall and watched as he pummeled my broken body to death.... I've been a velociraptor shooting hordes of unending zombies.... need I say more?

If you REALLY don't know what the heck this game is, read on.
Left 4 Dead 2 (L4D2) is an absolute legend in the FPS + Fast Zombie genre. From its Metascore of 89, to the countless hours played worldwide, and the endless number of Texture Packs or Mods, thanks to Source and Steam Workshop, this game can EASILY give you over 1000 hours of gameplay (I havent played much because of Planetside 2).

The game sets you as one of a team of 4 Players/CPUs (depending on your server settings) pitted to make it to the other saferoom across the map. The zombies' job? To stop you from surviving.

The zombies are the fast, really easy to kill kind, or at least the Common infected are. There's several Special infected:
  1. The Jockey jumps on players heads and steers them into danger, be it a cliff, fire, or other zombies.
  2. The Smoker ensnares players from long range, and (if all goes well for it) chokes the player to death, without the team noticing. Almost like a sniper.
  3. The Boomer acts a "marker" for the horde of NPC Common Infected from all over the map to stream down upon the Survivors and make them panic and shoot wildly. This buys the Infected team time to kill them and for the Survivors to waste ammo and hopefully bring down some survivors. The Boomer marks Survivors by either vomiting on them from medium range, or kamikaze-charging them.
  4. The Charger charges (wow, unexpected eh?) the Survivors, by flinging them aside, or with a direct hit, grab one by the chest and start pounding them til either the Charger or the victim dies. This can be crippling if done right, as it is garunteed to kill a survivor if the Charger is not killed.
  5. The Hunter jumps at Survivors and acts as the same role as the Charger, in layman's terms.
  6. The NPC Witch (only 1 - 3 spawn per game) is quite the ♥♥♥♥♥. When disturbed (it either walks or sits down, doesn't attack at first) it chases after the Survivor that disturbed it, instantly downing them . Just saying, you DO NOT EVER want to disturb a witch unless you are overconfident in your abilities.
  7. The Tank. Just like it name says, its a Tank. It can take hundreds of shots before it is killed, and suffers no knockback from hits. In the meantime, it can pound the ground to do AOE damage and knockback to Survivors, flip cars over to down survivors, and just directly punch them in the face for 25 damage (Survivors have 100 health before they go down.) When you hear the distinctive horns heralding its coming, group up with your team and prepare.

Special Zombies are Player controlled unless in Campaign or Survival servers.

---Now for the basic game mechanincs that you should know about!---

--Players have 100 health before they go down, AKA incapacitated/incapped. When incapped, you cannot move, and you are forced to use your secondary gun, whether its dual pistols, a Deagle, or your pistol. During this time, you have 300 health, but lose more and more of it over time - at 300 health you lose (I think) 1.25 health per second, and at 100 health you lose (once again, I'm not sure) 3 - 4 health per second, in addition to damage that the zombies deal out to you.

--As Survivors take damage, they move slower and slower, in Four stages: Green (100% normal speed), Yellow-Orange (80ish% speed), Red (50-25% depending on your damage), and Incapacitated (Can't move!) These colors are the Survivor's Health Bar colors (or if you're infected) their outlines.

--Shoving (by default, Right Mouse) helps SO MUCH. Use it whenever you need it, but be wary of the cooldown!

--Melee weapons (replaces your secondary) do an absolute buttload of damage, but they're called melee weapons for a reason.

--As a general rule, Medkits are worth more than diamonds in Minecraft, so to speak. They reset your death counter (if downed 2 times, and revived each time, the next time you go down, you instantly die.) And heal for 85% of your missing health, meaning that if you heal yourself at 99 health for example, you will still have 99 health, but if you have 1 health and heal, you are restored to 85ish health. Please, Please, Please , only use medkits as you think you need. Also, you can heal other Survivors too, building trust with the player.

--All items in the game, have use times except for throwables, which are instant-use. Keep their respective use times in mind as you use these items in the game, as damage and knockback interuppt their uses.

--And for throwables: Source games use Havok Physics, in non-geek speak, meaning that the physics in this game are extremely accurate, and can be predicted. Think before you throw!

--Like most Valve games, you cannot sprint, and guns are hitscan, which also in non-geek speak, means that bullets travel to their destination instantly, AKA no bullet drop, target leading (as if its easy to miss... lol)

---The rest the game teaches you through gameplay and pointers.---

FINAL NOTE: This is not a Hardcore, Survival Zombie game! L4D2 is a super fast-paced action game, with a bazillion mods and texture packs, and oodles and oodles of fun to play. Make sure to bring your friends, as being in Versus games (they aren't ranked) can be intimidating with all the raging pros and hackers. And before I go, let me tell you this: L4D2 is easy to learn, but hard to master. It's learning curve starts out with game mechanics and guns, then the rest is learning the maps and shooting.

Good Luck and Have fun out there!

8.75/10

I have to say, this is one of the funnest (yes it is a word) games I have played in recent times - more than even GMod!

For the people who have played the genre of sandbox games, I like to say that Terraria added upon Minecraft exponentially, and that Starbound adds in the same way on top of Terraria - exponentially.
