Tony Hawk's™ Pro Skater™ 1+2
”A Fantastic return to form”

THPS2 was my first skateboarding game growing up and when THPS3 dropped I got hooked on the series. Then obviously dabbled in skating IRL for a while.

Recent years have not been kind to the series with some really big duds released so I was initially cautions with this, hence the reason it took me 4 years to purchase it.

I regret that decision, oh man this is good.

A lot of people have issues with the DRM and always online, I just really don't care as we have a fully functional and polished THPS on the PC again.

A wonderful remake of 1 & 2 with all the “new” gameplay and mechanics etc. So we got Manuals, reverts, Spine Transfers, Wallplants, Flatland and more in 1 & 2 which is great

The challenge system is great and the online multiplayer is fun and stable.

The soundtrack is peppered with nostalgia and a couple of questionable trash tracks.

The game engine is fantastic and runs buttery smooth, which is great when busting out 1,000,000 point combos.

The saddest thing is this was a true return to form. Yet Activision basically shut Vicarious Visions down and merged it into Blizzard Albany basically killing THPS 3 + 4 for more brain-dead Call of Duty.

This is truly sad as 3&4 were without a doubt my favourite THPS and I would have loved to see them get the upgrades and love that 1+2 got. 3&4 had the best maps and music in my opinion.

That would have sold great, who knows perhaps we would have got a remake of THUG?

Even Tony Hawk himself confirmed 3+4 was in the works. A true shame that may never happen now.

I have heard rumours of a mod called THPSPRO for 1+2 which adds the 3&4 levels. So I will be checking that out
