You start by growing pot in the toilet bowl of a dildo shop backroom and work your way up to a hybrid strain crossbreeding + weed extraction lab, so you can shut up your local snobby NFT influencers and siphon their ill-gotten gains.

Surprisingly intricate for a deliberately trashy game.

More in-depth and ultimately more satisfying than Ruinarch, offers diverse approaches to world domination (political intrigue, plagues, direct military confrontation, magic, deep ones etc.) and loads of options for adjusting difficulty, so you can mostly play at your own pace. The mod support looks nice as well.

Despite the board-gamey presentation, the writing, the music as well as the little details to corrupted characters, all the way to watching actual darkness spreading across the map make the atmosphere click into place as the world spirals out of control. Definitely deserves more attention.

It's a pretty coherent Stardew Valheim with a smidgeon of Factorio. The natural blocks tesselate at weird angles just like in Dungeon Keeper, which makes me feel like a disposable imp smacking away at deposits in order to not get slapped to death.

Went into this expecting a mobile game of sorts, but here I am grinding up my excess gene-spliced abominations into hot dog meat. The entryway to my zoo is lined with cola vending machines to infuse the arriving visitors with lethal levels of caffeine, overclocking the speed of the survivors so they can spend more money more quickly on unethically sourced plushies and "burgers".

The research and animal unlocks are a little restrictive, but it's a pretty solid management game where things can quickly spiral out of control. Whether you wanna be eco-friendly and politically correct, or give zero f**ks about sustainability and ethics, there's some added minigames for either organic farming or turning your critters into literal bacon.

Oh and you can make the snakes bounce on trampolines so that's always a plus. https://i.imgur.com/huV7ItO.gif

Our new Chinese overlords tell us that there are FIVE elements, and after eroding the sticky molasses in my skull for 100 hours with this here digital madness I'm about ready to surrender to all the gaslighting.

One of the nerdiest games ever made.

The Song of Syx:

There's poop, there's gore, there's crises galore
Hippie orc communes or industrialist dwarves
Some random old giants who hail from up north
And accounting and taxes to manage of course

Sing the Songs of Syx
Strike the Earth with your picks
From Squire to Emperor
In a matter of weeks

Human office drones which don't even get paid
Strip-mine your lands, spend the profits they made
Send legions of insects on a bloody crusade
And raid your poor neighbors until all are enslaved

Educational programs, new sewers and roads
Millions of bodies toiling hard for the crown
Your capital growing, grander walls and deep moats
Many must fall till the world is your own

This is what finally put all other RCT games in the ground for me. That includes openRCT as well as the new Frontier Dev series (Planet Coaster) and the horrible, horrible attempt made at Rollercoaster Tycoon World.

The construction tools are nigh-divine, simple enough to immediately get into, and complex enough to let you pull off some insane engineering on your environment (resizable rocks ftw) and rides.
Decorations actually matter, increasing the excitement of rides, making people happy and hiding the ugly core of your park's ugly pipeworks.
There's a pretty good campaign to get you into gear for the sandbox, and the multiplayer feels like a tabletop miniature playset that you're working on in VR with some buds.

This deserves way much more traction to properly take the torch for this genre. Go buy.

It's one of those games that deserve way more love than they're getting. If you liked The Settlers, Anno, or been eyeing Foundation recently, give this a whirl as well.
