Pros:
•No gear progression (from the very beginning, you have access to the same weapons and tools as anyone else)
•Only ≈ $40 dollars to play the game (All 17 storyline missions and ≈ 1700 unlockable cosmetics are included)
•∞ randomized sidequests (bury treasure, deliver cargo, find shipwrecks, explore underwater temples, etc)
•Fun multiplayer (1-4 players per crew, bigger crew=bigger ship, fight/ally with other crews)

Cons:
•No gear progression (The only thing to show off your progress in the game is your cosmetics)
•≈ $2 to change your pirate's face, skin color, gender, and bodyshape (You pick from a list of randomized pirates)
•≈ $483 to buy all premium customization for your ship (≈ $23 per ship skin)
•≈ $588 to buy all premium customization for your pirate (≈ $10 per costume and $2-5 per weapon skin/tool skin/emote)
•≈ $708 to buy all premium customization for your pets (≈ $5 per pet skin and $3 per pet costume)
•The coolest cosmetics cost extra (No included pets/pet costumes, Only ≈ 38 of the included unlockable cosmetics glow/sparkle/etc)
•Always online and always multiplayer (No way to play offline or by yourself)
•No breaks. (10 minutes inactivity=server kick, All treasure/supplies are gone and storyline missions restart from beginning)

This excellent remake made the original Half-Life playable for me. The recently updated "Power Up" level highlights the beautiful lighting system as you fight your way through the darkness to turn on the generator and then backtrack through the now well-lit tunnels. Xen is a masterpiece and I found myself falling in love with the alien flora and fauna.

I passed on this game when it came out and again when it was "fixed" with the wastelanders update. Playing it on the free weekend only proved that was a good move. What a boring shell of a fallout game.

I was an early access supporter who paid $30 for this game and kept coming back to this game, hoping it would get better. But after years of tortuous development, the devs finally released the final product. And to this day, it still fails to provide the same experience as the free, community created mod that spawned it:
It is missing popular weapons such as the crossbow, revolver, and heavy machine gun (some of which they had in the beta, but ripped out of the final release so they could sell back to us as a DLC).
There are only four vehicles to choose from-all different varieties of hatchbacks. No bicycles. No military trucks. No helicopters.
They simplified the broken limb system, so shooting someone in the legs is no longer a viable tactic.
The basebuilding is a joke because what took you hours to build can be destroyed by anyone with an axe or sledgehammer in a matter of seconds, instead of requiring explosives or a chainsaw.

I have endured countless hours of buggy, unfinished mess. Even at it's best, it is a walking simulator about finding loot with very little else to do. It's worth $20 at most.

All the fun of Terraria, but slightly better.
Building feels familiar and just as rewarding.
Exploring is so much more exciting with varied planet types, biomes, and alien cultures.
NPCs feel less hollow because they interact with each other through quests and dialogue.
The huge variety of armor and weapons-both randomly generated and unique-is impressive, but lacks the deep playstyle customization.

Overall, this game was more exciting to play and has more replay value.

It's like playing charades in Dark Souls 3, except with cute animals and without all the violence.

Could stand to have more features though.

I still have nightmares about stuffing an unreasonable ammount of quarters into an pizza-parlor arcade machine. Glad that never has to happen again.

The most effective way to become a no-life. While the single player is little more than a toybox where you can make robots and take pictures of npcs in hilarious poses, the multiplayer is where this game really shines. With dozens of different gamemodes ranging from Prop Hunt (basically hide and seek where you can disguise yourself as an object) to Zombie Survival to the many roleplay servers, you're bound to find something to take over your life.

Word of warning:In order to fully enjoy this game, you will need the textures from Counter Strike Source. They are best bought together.

A quirky art experiment without any gameplay mechanics (aside from walking). It gives you beautiful, but lonely landscapes and these emotional, but puzzling monologues. Then it asks you to decode this ghost story for yourself. It's surprisingly engrossing, even if it's only good for one playthrough.
