Janky just like 2007, if you want the *accurate* stalker experience, play it now, if you want a more fixed up game, wait a year or so and you'll prob also be able to start modding.

Stalker 2 besides it's bugs, performance issues and general jank in design, so far tells an actually engaging story with a competently thought out "gearing" path throughout the progression of the game (tied to the story). It's one of those games that has you come back every time because you want to figure out what's waiting for you further down the line. Side quests range from short and funny to interesting with some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up twists. It's also a direct sequel to the original games and doesn't constantly hold your hands in regards of the narrative which i personally appreciate a lot.

For Veterans of the series, this is a welcome comeback of a beloved franchise, for new players seeking to check out these games it's an accurate representation of how the original stalker released back in 2007. If you are allergic to bugs, balancing issues and the occasional crash just wait a bit. As of the time of writing we've already gotten 2 rather large updates to fix things and the dev. seems to be committed to keep working on the game for the foreseeable future.

Lastly, considering that the game was made in the Ukraine during wartime, with the developer reportedly losing people because of the war going on over there, i'd honestly cut them some immense slack when it comes to the release version of the game, it's quiet impressive they've managed to develop this thing in full under those conditions.
