Oh, this is just a lovely, wholesome game. A 3D platformer which reminds me of old school games. NPCs are hand-drawn 2D sprites, which just look so cute. The game sticks out with its innovative gameplay mechanic where you have to swap textures of different objects (for example change that waterfall to vines to be able to climb onto it)

While being a very fun game, it's sadly way too short for the money. I finished the game in 2.5 hours and it took me another half hour to get the last achievements.
I'd say get it at a 50% discount.

Lovely little remaster of the original. Nice story, nice atmosphere and overall a nice time. There were some points I actually had problems with, the biggest one being the "classic" difficulty mode (necessary for getting all achievements); enemies are just bullet sponges with almost perfect aim while you're down with like 2-3 bullets. Enemies ain't even flinching when hitting them with a revolver.
Everything else was a minor rant here and there, which didn't really kill my opinion on the game.
So if you're just here for the story, you'll have a good time.

Bonus: Linux + 21:9 support

sadly doesn't support 21:9, devs knew that at some point but never did a thing about it

Very short and disappointing, I got it on a 75% sale and this even felt too expensive. The campaign can be done by racing less then 30 races á 3 minutes. Bad handling, very poor performance and an overall very confusing and ugly map design really gives one a hard time to enjoy the game. I really had high hopes for the gaming, looking like a LEGO version of Forza and Crew with a built-in editor (which also has a lot of space for improving).

What I don't get is the necessity of a Battle-Pass. The game has four of them, I did the mistake of buying the complete edition which contains the passes. After I've completed the story and the collectibes I had one of the four passes halfway through. So merely a cashgrab if you ask me.

From a perspective of a completionist this also had been a horrible experience. In order to complete everything you have to complete all of the very unfun and badly designed minigames and to put a crown on everything you need to get two achievements that requires you to drive around 4000 and 9500 km. After getting everything else and after around 20 hours I had 1500km. So do the math.

Poker as a roguelike, can't get more genius than that.
The gameplay is quite simple, you get a few cards on your hand and you got to build poker's famous combinations with the given cards to score points. Mentioned points are needed to clear the current level (the blind). To spice things up you can alter your playstyle and maximize your points by drawing bonus-joker cards, which add multiplicators of other alterations to your game.
The game seems quite simple from the outside, but once started, once really can see that there a bazillions of options for a playthrough - well, like we're used from our beloved rougelikes.
I would definetely recommend this game.

Early Access Review
I used to play the first installment of Beat Hazard back in the days quite a bit. After years and skipping the second title I saw that there's already a third part in the series.
It really kept the core gameplay which I remembered from the first game and got so many more gameplay features, like additional weapons. a huge galaxy system in which you can capture planets (haven't gotten the time to look into that, though), daily challenges, bazillions of different ships and ways to upgrade them.. so much more.
Definetely worth checking out
