Game made me break down and pray to the Gods for friends so I could have someone to play this with.
I haven't progressed in the story at all but that's because I keep getting distracted just.....walking and exploring, it's beautiful and I'm sure will only get better. Player and NPC models could use some work but I don't even care given how great the rest looks.
If you've ever just wanted to live in a medieval setting, this tickles that itch with a hammer and then some.

A literal "Honey, I Shrunk The Kids" simulator that I never knew I needed.
9/10 the only thing that could make it better is Rick Moranis.

Click clack of train make brain tingle and go "mmmmmmh".

Very fun building your train and the loop is simple but satisfying so far. The shark is easy to keep at bay, just pop him in the snout twice from a distance and he will never even touch your train. Also once you grab some other weapons and parts and start upgrading you can definitely kill it.

For those who say it's empty, the whole game is taking your awesome train through the VOID....ya know....VoidTrain...makes sense. There's stations and such to explore and once you progress further there are ways to leave your train and venture into the void to go deeper and find more things to explore.

So unstable it rivals my mental health.

Crashes more than my ex-wife who literally ran over a cow in an Altima.

EDIT! They fixed the problem with Frame Gen and the crashes related to Hardware Acceleration with Nvidia GPU's! The game is playable and beautiful again! DUMPY IS FREEEEEE

The town npc's you meet have more charisma and character and are better written than 90% of the npc's or companions I have found lately in AAA games.
Story content and the crave to come back and play more tomorrow is similar to that of when BG3 came out, like forgetting what time it is until I have to make more coffee and wake the kids up for school.
Only regret is I wish I had bought this a long long time ago!

How dare this game be so challenging and tense one moment and calm and serene the next. 4 hours of my time gone in 1 second tonight. And so worth it.

I am not far into this game at all. There have been a few times where I have quit after dropping a ton of resources far from my current base. But I always come back not even 30 minutes later. This is addicting as hell and if you are a fan of survival crafting games as well as farming sims, you can have the best of both worlds with Len's Island. So happy I found this awesome little game.

Also it's worth mentioning that the building system is amazing and out of the 11 hours I've played so far, probably 6-7 of those have been just building little houses and cottages and cave homes, etc.

Ok so I'm playing just single player and enjoying the hell out of this!
I get why its getting negative reviews based on the behavior of the parent companies, however this has been on sale for over a week now at $26.99, I think it just went off sale this Monday of 3/5/24*. At that price this is totally worth it for the graphics update and the QOL updates especially to the crafting system and building system. I only have about 25 hours in Ark Evolved but this has been easier to pick up and learn than it was in ASE for my first few hours.
I've had a few minor crashes, but most of my playtime has been seamless and entertaining.
Not sure about the reviews speaking of terrible performance on public servers, but I can say that on average I'm getting 55-80 FPS with all settings on high, DLSS set to Balanced, and Frame Generation off. And I am playing on a laptop so either people are trying to play everything in 4k max settings all the time because they're picky or they're just straight spoiled and aren't trying to enjoy the game for what it is.

RTX 4070 MOBILE gpu - 8GB Vram

32GB Kingston Ram downclocked from 5600 to 4800

Considering the Laptop 4070 graphics card has 4gb vram LESS than the desktop version and I am still getting acceptable frames, I'm pretty happy with how this game is performing. That being said, I wouldn't try playing without a decent cooling pad lol.

Yeah, when my average playtime in a game is 2 1/2 to 3 hours straight every single time I play a game, it's for sure got something special. My adhd ass hasn't even played all the games in my library or finished all of them for that matter but this ♥♥♥♥ got me hooked.

Minor stuttering here and there but ohhhhhh wow the realm cards are an amazing take on the world system. Absolutely amazing idea for farming resources and hopping into a different realm to farm animals for meat. Allows you to change up your environment whenever you feel like it.

The crafting could use an overhaul for sure but if you come at it from a realistic aspect everything makes perfect sense. Of course you can make a better axe by farming higher tier resources and crafting them with upgraded materials. Honestly I really don't mind it and it seems more natural than just being able to craft anything from the same basic 6 materials like in some other games.

Building and making cozy homes is satisfying and even though I'm not very good at the building side of things, it is something I enjoy and I probably spent near 30 hours just building homes. It was that fun lol.

TL;DR game runs decent and is a lot of fun and has a very unique style that sets it apart from competitors in many good ways.

Demons and Cults and Darkness has never been so ADORABLE!
So besides the gameplay being an excellent mix of village building/crafting and a dungeon rougelike, the characters are fun to customize, the random requests you will get from your cult will have you questioning so many things, and the fighting is challenging, rewarding, and a ton of fun.
Great game to play before bed if you want to miss work the next day.
