I’m going to declare this right up front: As someone who’s had several mental health issues for many years now, I’ve found leagues more comfort, solace, and useful mental health advice from playing this game, in which you play as a vampire who decides to become a mental health professional who helps other vampires, than I ever have from the myriad of real-life therapists I’ve ever seen. I prefer to look at that as a testament to how expertly Vampire Therapist does what it sets out to do as opposed to any other potential perspectives (like a condemnation of the American mental healthcare system).
