My time played in Steam does not represent my actual time played in-game. At the time of writing this review, it is off by 9,612.3 hours as I have had an account for 11 years, 1 month and 3 days (4408 days) while playing on and off for years at a time. This is probably my most consistently played game series and the only MMORPG I actually like that doesn't require a subscription.

I spent a lot of time as a solo pug and it was okay, but the game is far better once you find a consistent group (A.K.A. static groups) to play with. Especially a Guild with which you can complete a variety of events (Strike Missions, Raids, Guild Missions, Challenge Motes, World Bosses, and more) on a weekly basis if you wish. It's a fairly profitable way to make in-game gold. Even for casual players. Though Fractal Scale 42 farming is better in terms of per hour profit.

If you want to participate in higher level content, you'll need higher levels skills. I'd practice raid rotations (Snow Crows is a good source for this) on the Golem found in the Lion's Arch Aerodrome. I also recommend using a DPS meter such as ArcDPS to gauge your own DPS. Making sure to learn the differences between cleave and single target DPS. You want to focus on single target, most experienced players do not care about cleave. Note that using third party programs is technically against ToS, but;

"The bottom line is that arcdps generally is ok to use because it doesn't violate the policy of giving an unintended, unnatural, or unfair advantage over others, but Anet still reserves the right to take action on accounts that use any third-party programs."

I also recommend using BlishHUD. It can be used to provide some QoL (Quality of Life) improvements to the game, but again;

"While, in general, we will not take action on an account for the use of such a utility program or modification, action is subject to ArenaNet's discretion."

So use them at your own risk I suppose.
