One of the best games out there both in terms of gameplay and look.

I have 2 full playthroughs of this game, once when it was released and another one recently through the Epic games store, the gameplay is so fluid and it looks gorgeous as well, if you wanna try RT and see how it actually change how a game's look try this game, you won't be disappointed.

I played it on my RTX 3060 Ti RT ON w/ DLSS Quality @1080P and I was getting respectable +60fps framerate.

When you look down you can see your legs.

Can’t believe I waited 15 years only for “Brain-dead-Bungie” (yeah, new nick name I just made, hope you like it) to not have servers ready. We tried to warn when we complained about the engine but streamers like Datto got paid to silence and shame us. I can’t believe that we let the state of the game reach this point. I don’t care if this is the best DLC to date, we can’t let Brain-dead-Bungie stay alive as a company.

Maybe have your servers be actually UP when you release a new DLC? just a proposal idk!!! GETTING SERVERS NOT AVAILABLE ERROR CODE FOR AN HOUR NOW!!!!!

Small story DLC, 2 hours max on it, unlike other reviews I had no issue with the ending, didn't hate, didn't love it.

My main complain about this DLC is the same as the main game, the combat, this DLC does nothing to the combat to make it fresh, it's still the same old "ADAD" "Melee combo" "shoot shoot", really boring, also it adds no new guns and no new abilities, you just unlock The Kinetic Hammer, which is just a beefed up batton, the main combat loop remain unchanged.

I got the DLC on sale and you should too, it's absolutely not worth the full price.

I remember seeing this somewhere and being so hyped about it, it seemed fun, but I played it for 30 minutes and it was the most boring half hour in my life, I might retry when I have 0 interesting games to play and can spare hours for this game to "get good", but for now it's just not worth it, if the game isn't engaging in the first hour might as well just drop it and play something else.

This is my 3rd review of this game, I deleted my previous 2 negative reviews for this positive one because despite all it's fault Darktide at the core is a really solid game, a very solid horde shooter.

First things first the positives:

- One of the best, if not the best melee combat w/ an extremely fun gunplay as well.

- A great selection of classes (4 classes) that all feel distinguished from one another, each class has their own abilities, perks and their own melee and ranged weapons.

- A good selection of maps and mission types: game still feel fresh even at the 130h mark and the mission types, while they're all usually go from point A to point B while killing everything in your path, are still different enough to feel unique.

- A really big talent tree that allows you to make all sort of builds that all feels unique.

- A great big selection of enemies that all have their own strengths and weaknesses, also unique models, abilities, and sound cues.

Now to the cons and the not so good things about the game:

- The game hits a brick wall once you reach level 30 (the level cap): there is almost no insentive or reward for playing other than just wanting to play, other good horde shooters (mainly DRG) have all sort of cosmetics and weapon overclocks that you can chase, while in Darktide you got 0, there are some penances aka achievements that you can do for cosmetics but those are extremely numbered.

- The lack or rather the very very slow update process from Fatshark: the devs are extremely slow in adding new content to the game that it can barely keep the game fresh, they'll spend 6 months to add a single map or a single enemy, hell this new upcoming update (coming this April, hopefully) will add a SINGLE new enemies and 2-3 penanaces and that took them almost 6 months.

- The menotization system and how it's implimented: the only way to get cosmetics is through the shop and there is no way to acquire premium currency through gameplay, so you're stuck with the same 1-2 outfits that the game gives you forever unless you spend some extra cash.

- The overall game performance: the game has performance issues and it's extremely annoying, my 2 previous reviews were negative mainly because the game was running like absolute dog water and constantly crashing on my RTX 3060 Ti & 5600X rig @ 1080p, I have to constanly troubleshoot every single crash and every single setting to get the game to be in a healthy state.

TL;DR:

Darktide is a 55/100 game, very very solid gameplay but it's held back by the devs lack of urgency for updates and keeping the game fresh.
