Early Access Review
Project Absentia is an amazing game made by an amazing group of people. I played the demo well before it was released on Steam and kept playing the new versions as it was updated. I was excited for the game from the moment I played an older version of the first level. I eventually found out that the developers had a public Discord, I joined to talk about the game and ended up becoming friends with some of the developers. I'd say they're some of my favorite people just chill and talk with. As I am a streamer and have been vocal about my excitement, playing multiple versions of the demo on my stream they saw fit to gift me a key to this game. Though they have given me the game for free, be assured that my feelings are genuine.

Project Absentia puts you in the shoes of the protagonist Absentia or Abby to her friends. The plot surrounds you having to save said friends from an evil corporation. It plays like just about any other run and gun "boomer" shooter, with one major difference. That difference? Verticality. Project Absentia takes full advantage of the Z-axis that many other "boomer" shooters don't. You can, and should, be jumping and gliding as you rain explosive carnage on the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ who kidnapped your girlfriend and best friend.

The Soundtrack by Metal Neon is absolutely brilliant. I recommend buying a copy of that to listen to even when you're not playing the game.

Level design is top-notch, if you're lost try jumping around a bit. Remember that Z-axis.

The humor may not be for everyone, it can be a little crude and some people may not like that, but I appreciate how unapologetic it is.

I rate this game 8.5 out of 10 Tommy Guns
Buy it, play it, enjoy it.
