The game plays exactly as I remember from when I played Halo on the Xbox 360. While there are some bugs that are pretty annoying, nothing is game breaking from my experience nor anything that I have heard from other people. Even if you're contemplating getting Halo and haven't played it before, I'd seriously recommend it if you are a fan of shooters. The series as a whole is an absolute classic.
