Most other people (so far) had problems running the game but I didn't have any really. That said, I can't say it's necessarily worth it in its current state as it is severely lacking in features. It does, however, have exactly what's advertised in the trailer as well as a lot of potential for future improvement and expansion. If you want to give it a shot then go ahead.

This is me messing around exploring it for the first time:

I whole heartedly recommend this and am slightly ashamed I haven't gotten around to reviewing it yet. This was one of the earliest games I played (probably second actually) and I had the game of the year edition on disk (so don't let the time counter fool you, I've actually spent a lot more time on sins outside of steam).

Honestly from a space RTS I really couldn't ask for much more. It's a slightly old game so the graphics aren't "next gen" however the interface is very convenient and allows for quick switching between zoomed out tactical views to help manage your fleet battles, and a more up close cinematic view to really engage the player into what's going on. The civilization management aspect is also very indepth and has many different factors which need to be accounted for when making certain decisions. Coupling that with a very indepth research tree (many aspects of which are race specific) and the other deep differences in the entire play style of the three races, there's a lot of varience for enjoyable replayability.

Honestly thought... I'd say the best part is just the scale the battles can get too, and mine haven't even been that grand compared to other's I've seen. It's quite enjoyable to watch a fleet of 100 frigates, and 50 or so cruisers charge into a pirate base, only for their pirate adversaries to just be engulphed and devoured in your swarms of hundreds of fighters and bombers at the ready.

Also... the main difference the rebellion version has over the rest is that it adds two subfactions to eatch race, loyalists and rebels, and each of these subfactions has their own individual titan, which is just awesome. The titans add a new aspect to the combat as they can be the definite deciding factor in many of your future battles, and when you watch one plow through the enemy frigates like a steam roller... well let's just say it's satisfying.

So honestly all in all I think it's worth it and you can get a lot of hours out of it. Of course it's still smart to wait for sales, so if it's on sale for cheap I'd say snatch it up. However that's just me and my experiences, I hope this helped, bye!

I got mauled by a black wolf while beating it with a rock, chased a naked man knocking on the back of our hut while protecting my afk friend, somehow turned that guy into a slave that loots things and delivers it to us, and then we all got lewred into a rock enclosement by a nude dude with a pistol where he and some other guys who popped out of nowhere pulled machineguns and broke into an epic firefight ending in their dissappearance with one of our now dead partner's loot while I chased our teamate around a boulder thinking he was the enemy.

11/10

Unfinished, but wonderfuly entertaining already, can't wait to play the final product.

It's fun, but way to expensive if you're just going to play it single player imo. However playing it multiplayer with your friends is just the best, end of story.

I should've reviewed this a long time ago but I forgot okay guys! Anyway...

Addicting. Very Addicting.

Everything on the table. Graphics are great, though style is a little dark/moody and might not be for everyone. Gameplay. Is. Amazing. The mechanics work so well in sync to bring an enjoyable experience of kicken royally kicken ass (until end game that is). You're a space ninja that can run on walls while pinning someone to a lamp post with space bow, or annihilating swarms of enemies with a grenade launcher while soaring through the air menacingly. The special ninja movement skills like wall running and sliding all trigger really smoothly (some more then others but whatev's :P), and the community is really great for a current f2p. The team stays really active within it, for instance prime time, their weekly thursday night live stream talking about current happenings. Honestly I totally support the community. There's also a decent amount of gear customization with their modding system.

Oh also for an f2p its not even pay to win because all of the best gear isn't even available for the real money currency, platinum. However I will say sometimes it feels like there's a little too much farming. Also I've spent too much money on this for a f2p title. Just saying it's fun and addictive.

So go play it why are you still reading this rediculous review!

Everyone is giving this bad reviews and I don't really see why. First of all it's free, so there's no need to waste money before you see if you like it or not. Second, a lot of people say it gets to repetitive end game, and honestly all I have to say to that is so what? The whole charm of the game isn't really the castle raiding aspect, it's the castle building aspect. Personally I just check up on my mines once in a while and, then update my castle just to try and psych out my irl friends. I mean so far it's been enjoyable enough and gives a good sense of satisfaction when you raid a really hard castle, when you're castle kills some enemies, or when you know you've just improved a major flaw in your castle. Imo I think it's fun to play it kind of like a puzzle game where you're trying to get into the other players heads.

So honestly all in all its free so you mine as well go check it out to see if it's something you're interested in.

OMG YES... Seriously though fast paced mech shooter action, dashing properly (yea if you can do it right good for you because it seems like no one can and it's the key to everything) and thats a testiment to how important movement is in this game. Battles evolve completely minute upon minute and there's a good variety of mechs so you're going to get a different style of teamwork everygame. There's different mech rotations for trialing things you think would be cool and its free so why are you still reading this go download it already.

I was playing back a while ago and though some people hate the changes they've made I personally love them. They've moved the game closer to the fun but intense tactical arcade that it's meant to be than the everyman for himself mech-sim that it was becoming and I for one find that refreshing.

Oh and it's actually not pay to win. Though you can advance quicker with meteor credits or whatever the only things you can buy with them that you cant get with the normal currency are cozmetics. So no problems there.

Anyway just an all around fun and fast paced shooter which people actually do engage in teamwork in that you should all atleast give a try. I would totally recommend this, to anyone who likes mechs, and/or guns in general. :)

Do you prefer technical games that make you think and sometimes tear your hair out but give tons of creativity and lots of satisfaction? Do you like space? Do you want to be (or are) an engineer? This game is loads of challenging and creative fun, and very worth it for the price. So many different parts, ways to put them together and make some crazy contraption, reasons to do so, and ways to use and enjoy them once you've made them. Made a small space rover? Great, now put it on a rocket and get to the moon! Now send an attachable thruster system that allows it to fly. Build a space station in the same hair tearing way we did in real life! A moon colony! Honestly it's just got so much content, along with all the mods you can create for ages.

This is what I wrote a while ago, when I gave this a positive review:

Recommended, yes! Though it's somewhat pay to winny its a free to play and a quality one. I'm the kind of person who often spends more time building my loadouts than actually playing the game, and if you want to do that, blacklight is amazing for you. If you don't want to do that, blacklight is amazing for you. Honestly with quality gameplay, and graphics, sounds, etc. it would be a fine normal shooter, but then when you add all the details of customization and all the stats they give you up front to help you make your choices you soon realize it's a lot more. And yes, there's taunts, rainbows, troll faces, and everything nice is right there for you to laugh at your opponents with. So hopefully the the taunts convinced you, but if they didn't, just give it a try.

None of that matters anymore. The playerbase died, but it was ok, because a few cool people still played and we had fun. Then the devs left it and a new team took it up. They replaced a beautiful PC designed free to play with a playstation edition that's absolute crap. Don't play this game. Burn the old devs for leaving it, and the new devs for not being the old devs!
