I played the heck out of the original AoE3 on disc, and continue to pump MANY hours worth of my time into the Wars of Liberty mod for it. However, I am somewhat disappointed in the Definitive Edition release. While it is definitely a graphical enhancement and plays very much like the original, I had performance issues even on the lowest possible graphical settings.

This really makes me wish for a "neutral" recommendation button for Steam reviews, as in "yeah i would recommend this game, but not in the current state it is in."

Also, the whole deal with the American General unit in the Battle of New Orleans mission is stupid. Like you'll give Sir Francis Drake his real name, but you'll draw the line at Andrew Jackson? Bruh moment from Forgotten Empires here.
