NEW UPDATE ROCKS

despite the "lol titty" design on the shopkeep, the gameplay is outstanding. I absolutely love the idea of the alt floors being optional, focusing on a risk vs reward to help buff your character for the final fights

After replaying this game for the 5th time, i still cant put this game down, unlike the sequel unfortunately. im legit addicted 10/10
EDIT: 2nd game is just as good now

easy anticheat ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks

When I first saw this game a couple of years ago, I was put off by the rpg style because of how much I was used to to the usual yakuza gameplay style. However, I wasnt only pleasantly surprised, i was enthralled by both the gameplay and the story, and I racked up plenty of hours because of the story alone. This was also the first yakuza game Ive played while having english audio enabled, and to my surprise it does not take away any emotion that the original audio would of had, especially because the cutscenes also lipsync the english audio as well, which I had not expected
TL:DR; despite the change in gameplay, its still that yakuza quality that keeps hooking me in

i remember back when this game first came out. at first sights, i thought this game was just another binding of isaac ripoff just like the other games here on steam. i kept thinking that, and for the first year of this game's release nothing had changed that. but then i saw the youtube videos from such creators like dunky and hutts, so i immediatley fell in love with the puns this game had produced. i was, and i still am not, good at this game. but now that i know that the updates for this game will stop, its like saying goodbye to an old friend. i hope developer digital will continue to make great games like this one.
