Early Access Review
Ignore more than half of the reviews, it's mostly just PVP junkies mad that this isn't a PVP game or people who have no patience, and thus no business being part of an early access program. Most of them probably haven't even looked at the roadmap or ignored the early access tag, expecting a full game.

Anyways, I'm loving this so far. The combat is just as fun as I remembered, if not a little bit better than it used to be in the original Hawken. The universe and environments are just as interesting as they used to be, the environment artists and worldbuilding team need more praise than they get.

Gunplay is snappy and fast-paced, the movement system is very responsive and fun to learn and get used to and discover quirks about how it interacts with the environment. The new AI enemy designs are very fun and fighting them is interesting and engaging. Grinding through the patrols and missions to slowly build up your mechs and slowly feel them tangibly getting stronger and more dangerous is incredibly satisfying.

I can't express how truly excited I am to be playing around in one of my favorite settings and combat systems again, and I can't wait to see how things develop, what new mechs and weapons we get to unlock and play with, and what new environments we get to patrol and play around in, especially once we reach Phase 3 of development and get to play with friends!

A destiny-like pseudo-open-world mech game with an interesting story has been a niche of game that I've been wanting to experience for such a long time, and that's what we're finally getting!
