I dont think the story was perfect but it was entertaining. The characters were lovley, and the actual content has been nothing but enjoyable including some of the most fun hard content theyve had in a while. The 2 new jobs have quickly raised to the top of my list as 2 of my favorite in the game. This expac really doesnt deserve the hate mob its been getting.

Allow me to explain the way of the dark souls:

Final Fantasy XIV. What a game, honestly this game is something truly special. - 10/10

The job design is standard for mmos, with a slower start but as you level the jobs get more interesting and fun to play with. While their are changes that could be made to them and features that could be added, I think even at this point every job offers something that may appeal to you.

The combat is very fun, bosses have fun and interesting ways of doing mechanics and completing the fight. The normal content continues to be fun after 7000 hours, though the lower level raids could use a tune up. And the hard content is very fun, as long as you enjoy the idea of working with others, get a group of friends with the same goal to clear you'll have an experience you will never forget.

The questing. Out off all the amazing things this game offers the questing can be a little bland of an experience, most of it is walking from person to person and hearing what they have to say. And if you aren't going to pay attention to the story, you will not enjoy the questing experience at all. The questing is only made tolerable by the story in my opinion, though there are a few questing moments that are genuinely pretty cool. Though if you look at the questing through the eyes of your character and immerse yourself within the world, It really feels a lot better.

Then there is the story. Final Fantasy XIV, while not the perfect story by any right, is one of the best stories i have ever had the pleasure to experience. The characters are written very well and the principle of checkovs gun is executed amazingly throughout several points in the story. I have never cried so much playing another video game in my life, and not even just sad crying, happy crying because i care so much about this world and its characters. The latest expansion Endwalker is neck in neck with Shadowbringers in terms of its phenomenal story, the meaning especially really is something special, and something you will have to see for yourself.

And then we get to the topic of A realm reborn. And i'm sure you have all heard that it is the worst part. And while compared to the beasts of the expansions stories, a realm reborn may not be nearly as interesting, It builds the world and sets up crucial plot for the story to come, and honestly it really does pay off to just pay attention and get through it. It may be a bit of a slog but I promise you it is absolutely worth every second of it.

But I really do love this game and wish more people had the pleasure to experience it as I have. Please if your looking for a new game to play in your free time, try out the free trial, I'm sure you've heard the memes already so ill spare you, but I cannot recommend it enough. And if this game is not for you that is okay too! As long as you give it a fair shot that is all I ask.
