Chillout has a lot of features that i wish vrchat had, but lacks in polish, especially with the ui. many people i talk to about cvr say that they were put off by the ui and stopped playing. the community of chillout is certainly small, but i don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. it does mean that there are usually only one or two populated instances, but it also means that you are more likely to run into the same people. I very much hope chillout succeeds, i would much rather have this be vrc's competitor than whatever the mega tech corps are making.

I think vrchat is best described as the internet in person, for better or for worse. its a metaverse that doesn't feel soulless, that gives creative freedom. I've made so many friends from around the world thru vrchat, and it has encouraged me to develop skills like 3d modeling that i may not have otherwise. vrchat isn't all good though, far from it, there are plenty of unsavory characters and content that you probably don't want to see, but I think the good far outweighs the bad. I recommend playing in pcvr, playing on desktop can be a bit boring for some, and playing on android (mobile, quest) can be a bit limiting (there are some features/content that are not available on the android version)

Very fun, gameplay is kinda somewhere between half-life and valheim, although i think the story is more similar to scp really.

Great rhythm dancing game, highly recommend. Despite this game being pretty new, it already has a good number of high quality custom maps. If i had to give a complaint about gameplay, i would say its a bit too forgiving, i have never failed a level, and i will often find that i hit notes that i know i should have missed.

I play using valve index w/ vive trackers, and i believe this is the ideal way to play the game, as it gives you nearly perfect tracking and lets you play with the hand notes.

I have also tried the game on a Quest 2 (quest native, not steam vr), and the experience is not as great. The quest 2 controllers were not designed to be used as feet trackers, and it shows - tracking quality is bad. It is still playable, but you will miss a lot of notes because of tracking issues. Also you are supposed to be able to use hand tracking to hit the hand notes, but when i tried this, the tracking quality of the controllers got so bad that it was unplayable.

I have yet to try the game using the camera mode, i'll update my review when i get the chance to try it.

this mod adds a fairly complex mechanic, and does a very good job of easing you into it. Solving the puzzles is very satisfying, although I feel like I didn't solve the last chamber in the intended way, as my solution seemed to skip many of the elements present in the chamber

This game/social platform is so broken in so many ways. for a vr game, it only really seems to be viable on desktop. you cant hear anyone talking in vr, and the player scaling for avatars is all wrong. full body tracking barely works, it does the avatar scaling AFTER calibration, making it impossible to properly calibrate for small or large avatars, its basically only possible to use avatars that are actually the same size as you, if you want accurate calibration that is. It also seems like they screwed up basic roomscale movement, somehow. moving, irl, from point a to point b then back to point a doesn't always put you at the same place in the game. Mirrors are also visually... wrong. looking at them for too long hurts. The only good thing I can say about Oasis is that it made me appreciate the other popular VR social platform.

very smooth and intuitive to use. highly recomended. I only wish that it would see youtube music as a music player (as of the latest beta, it does!)
