This game is pure fun. I'm not the most well versed on the 40k lore so a few details eluded me, but they did a great job of presenting it in a way where pretty much anyone can find enjoyment in the story. The gameplay takes a bit of getting used to, but it is very visceral and upfront once you get the hang of it.

The COOP mode is most likely going to be the meat of the game for most people. It has a ton of replay value and loads of stuff to unlock.

There are a few minor cons that I do want to point out to potential buyers.
In it's current pre-release state, the games performance can sometimes take a hit. It was never bad enough for me to be bothered much, but it is noticeable.
The other minor gripe I have is that the final campaign mission clocks in at about 2 hours long. It will vary slightly from person to person. I think it should have been divided into two separate missions. The first time I played the final mission was coop in my friend's lobby. We reached the final boss and the servers crashed. When we logged back in the day after, I was forced to start the entire 2 hour mission from the beginning and it felt like a slog.

Those smaller gripes aside, there is so much bang for your buck here if you plan to play even just two of the three modes included. Would recommend! For The Emperor!

This game is a ton of fun. Character depth is just right. It's easy to learn and has loads of variety. The visuals are next level as well. I can say that some of the game modes could use some tuning, but it's much better than I was expecting!

This is a strange game. I feel like something is lost in translation between what more than one person wants the game to be. If you are here for purely a single aspect of the game, it will fall short for you.

The visuals are upper mid at best. The combat is fun, but needs some slight tweaking. There is very little visual feedback on being hit by normal attacks. The story seems like a shell or outline of what could be pretty great, but it's marred by very poor character development. There are these "moments" the game tries to convey to you through cutscenes, and it's hard to care about the outcomes for most people in the world, because... well they had next to zero personality. Most of them are completely forgetable.

Now all of that sounds like negatives, so why am I giving this game a positive review? It has heart. It is not bad. It just needs more time in the oven. Even though the development cycle is over, it still provides a fun experience if you lower your expectations to a reasonable level.

The maps are large and packed with pretty fun activities and the traversal mechanics feel great. Even though combat itself is just ok, the build crafting is pretty great and full of many ways to really get creative.

I was able to finish the main story and at least half of the side content in less than 20 hours. Some people might be turned off by that. I personally don't think every game needs to be as long as The Witcher 3 so I'm not going to ding it for that. You do unlock new game plus and it adds new mechanics to ramp up the difficulty so that is a major positive.

In the games current state, $40 is a worthy asking price for the content and potential replayability. For those wanting to buy the game and test it within the 2 hour steam refund window, maybe avoid it. It takes a little more time than that to really get going.

I give it a solid 7 out 10.

The port is just so fantastic. Single player does not need the PSN link. Also, linking PSN actually gives you a mini playstation overlay you can open to add and invite PSN friends for cross platform play.

Are you going to have fun? Lots of it!
Are you going to kill bugs? Mountains of them!
Are you going to occasionally sacrifice your friends with an airstrike? 100%
Will they be mad about it? Not if they stand for Democracy!

After several patches, and some Nvidia driver updates, I am happy to report that this game runs great for me now! I'm loving it! Just a good old fashioned action platformer. It warms the soul.

Yes the monitization and menus are kind of a mess. Yes it has lootbox style mechanics. BUUUUUT, They have a 100% balanced multiplayer mode if all of that is too much for you, and the game is just very well done!

I know you see the mixed reviews and scrolled down. I don't care why you did, but you are here now.

Is this game amazing? Nope.

Is it fun? Yeah.

It is a totally unbalanced, tacked on multiplayer mode that you get for FREE by purchasing Resident Evil Village (Which is phenomenal btw).

This game will likely die out on it's own eventually. Just do yourself a favor and buy Village, get this for free, and have some completely wacky, no holds barred, fun.

If a review mentions RE Outbreak, disregard it and move on. They don't understand how to focus on the product. Wait.... I just mentioned RE Outbreak...

Unbelievable that this is an alpha. The game is very well polished for being this early in development! It feels like a hero shooter that relies less on the abilities and more on the skill of the player's aim and movement. Super low TTK and tons of fun. The game also does not have any paywalls at all. Anything that affects gameplay is available through normal play. Huge thumbs up!

The concept of the game is really cool and it has awesome controls! Unfortunately I just had a ton of trouble finding anything interesting in the levels you play. the design wasn't on par with free games of similar stature that I have played. Save yourself the money and go play Sonic Robo Blast 2 for free.
