Many speak of The Last Remnant as being different. True in a sense given the concept of unions however the game in a nutshell comes down to fight the most enemy unions at one time that is feasibly possible. Exploration helps tremendously with progression. The link system in which you select enemy unions is extremely addictive.

Surprisingly grinding is minimal. The combat system is insanely well thought out. Your union leaders matter as does protecting vulnerable unions. Disengaging an enemy union at the wrong time can prove catastrophic. The much spoken about BR or Battle Rank system in honestly nothing more than a gimmicky veil. It's all about character progression. I can go on for a 50 page essay but I'll just leave it here.

The FOV is terrible though editing a config file solves this problem quite nicely. The game looks great for a 2009 production and runs in 4K super sampled.

Perhaps one day S/E will bring the remastered version to Steam and return this masterpiece to the worlds greatest digital gaming platform.

SE made a remaster so I gather from reading around that they did not want people buying the original so it was pulled but the remaster never came to Steam. You can buy the remaster on other platforms.

Very hidden. Unlisted on the Steam store so how do you purchase and why was it removed?

A hidden gem in my eyes. Haven't seen anything like it thereafter.
