No Man's Sky is a fun casual/exploration game. I originally pre-ordered the game in 2016 and succumbed to the hype train. After sitting on it for years I decided to pick it up again in 2020 for a bit and again in 2022. Lightyears better than it was at launch. The base building is cool and you can let your imagination free to create a nip nip drug lord farm or a beach side mansion, or even a hillside cabin. You're only limited by the planets that you've discovered. The main story is there, but I find myself just chilling in the vastness of space. I enjoy being a trader going between systems to amass wealth beyond belief or being a pirate and destroying cargo bays on freighter ships to steal their cargo and sell it to the system over.

TLDR; Good game, worth a try if you like casual/sandbox/exploration games.
Just chill and explore.
