Excellent game. HARD AS HELL but worth the fight.

Amazing technical marvel for what it is. It looks more like an NES game than an Atari game and has tight as heck controls and very well thought up levels and mechanics.

Oh and the bosses will kick your butt!

This game is a love letter to everything Zelda CDI and Youtube Poop. But don't let that dissuade you from playing it if you're not familiar with either.

This game is a wonderfully made Metroidvania with a lot of heart and soul put into it. I plan to go into more detail about this game in an upccoming Youtube video on my channel Working Man Games but what I will tell you is this game is absolutely awesome and you can tell theres so much effort put into making it a unique game unlike anything else.

OKAY. Here's the deal. And this is gonna be a big TLDR review you'll probably not read.

YES its not the greatest game in the world. There's games that do open world better than this. But FFS people. This is an indie studio. Its not gonna be Fallout 5. The biggest thing I can say about it is, its TRYING. Its TRYING to be good. When its working its working very well. The main thing that bogs me down is the crafting is kinda crap. They way overcomplicated it. And yes, the narrator gets old immediately and you start wondering if you're playing The Stanley Parable. But nothing against the actor. He does a good job. Its not his fault they made a bad call on not just doing english VA's for everyone. They probably did that to keep costs down. This is an indie studio after all.


Should you pay $60 for it? HELL NO. In fact, you can get it for $50 at WALMART with physical discs that include game data. And I'm talking the PC version.

But I'm not gonna tell you to pirate it either. We do want this studio to make another game using what they've learned from this one. Wait for a sale at like... 20 maybe? Then decide for yourself if this is something you're gonna enjoy.

Me, I'm gonna enjoy it for what it is. Because when it works, it works.



TLDR its flawed but its not a piece of crap. Don't pay $60 though.

In 2020 I did a review of this game criticizing the Denuvo as it made my PC blue screen.

Years have passed and they got rid of the Denuvo

I have played through the game and it is absolutely wonderful

I also have a better PC now so I can enjoy it in its full glory

I don't write reviews often but holy moly this is a great story and amazing take on text adventures! Nothing like it out there! Highly recommend

I was excitted to try this game after all the good reviews and "RE is back" fanfare. Gotta say its all true. Good stuff. Despite it being first person view unlike the previous games (Except survivor but we don't talk about it), it manages to give out the vibe of the old games with a modern twist for today's audience. Also it takes place in Louisiana. My home state, so I already like it haha.
