You play as a shark and you can kill literally everything on your way to becoming a mutated, super-powered megalodon. What's not to like?

A great game to play when you've got nothing else to do.

2023 Update: It's still very fun.

Now maybe I just like collectathons and supernatural overtones, but this game is perfect for me. Interesting dialogue between Akito and KK, enough varied sidequests to keep me intrigued (I don't know much about deep Japanese culture, so most of this is very new to me!), mixed with the unique combat system, kinda just makes me feel like I'm playing an anime. Which, with all of the (possibly cultural?) hand movements and voice lines, seems like it was definitely an intention by the developers.

If the price scares you, wait for a sale! But personally, I'm satisfied.

One of the most fun, refreshing, and wholesome games I've had the pleasure of playing through. It's good for the soul, with tons of memorable characters to befriend and varied worlds to explore! Just don't forget to feed your weird snail Tamagotchi.

Biomutant is a beautiful mess of a game. There are many underdeveloped or outright bad aspects of the game, but when it shines, it shines like the sun. Fast chaotic combat, weapons you can design and build down to individual components, a huge immersive open world with varied environments, really weird characters, and a hero only a mother could love. You're basically a lightning fast furry ninja with an AK and elemental powers, what's not to love?

With that being said, the game can get a little repetitive. Shooting and looting doesn't really change, but how you go about shooting and looting does the more your character advances. Unlocking a mushroom to reach high up places, getting a gauntlet to break down walls, getting a mucus bubble to CC and launch enemies, ect.

This game takes hours off me every time I sit down to play, so maybe give it a shot. If you don't like the price, wait for a sale. Those world eaters ain't gonna slay themselves.

It's a damn shame you can't buy this version of the game anymore, as it has a charm that the Redux version simply doesn't. I have played through this game 15+ times, and 100%'d it on two separate platforms, and my time with it is one I will forever remember and cherish.

It is one of the most unforgiving FPSs of it's time for a variety of reasons, being a mix of intention and sheer jank. Combat and stealth are both unforgiving and will punish you for not exploring all of your options before deciding, the game does not hold your hand at all for any reason, and you're truly left to your own devices in most cases. Exactly how I imagine a post-apocalyptic wasteland would be.

Despite the game's flaws, it truly was a masterpiece from a studio with very little in the way of funding. If you're lucky enough to own this version, go play it! You owe yourself the experience.

Paladins has a rocky history, and has more bugs than the developers seem to know what to do with, but the passion behind this game is undeniable. Competitively, it's the most fun I've ever had in the genre. With a fun and diverse set of champions to choose from, the varied maps to keep things fresh, and consistent content drops, Paladins is currently experiencing a bit of a renaissance to it's golden age, with a dedication to new content being proven over the last year. Despite not all of these ventures not working out, it's clear that the developers do actually care, and I can only hope the game has a bright future ahead of it still. All you gotta do is have fun and play!

Black Mesa is nothing short of incredible; An ode to Half-Life fans, and a showcase of pure talent from dedicated developers Crowbaw Collective. 16 years in the making, Black Mesa not only faithfully recreates the chapters and events of the first game, it expands upon them; adding alternate routes, completely redesigned level spaces, unique NPC dialogues upon completing objectives with or without them, among others.

But ignoring everything short of Lambda Core, Crowbar Collective went above and beyond for Part 2 of Black Mesa's launch; the release of the Xenian chapters. With this, not only would Black Mesa finally be complete, but Xen would be recreated from the ground up in a completely unique art style, blending cosmic fantasy with eldritch overtones. While many complained of Xen in Half-Life for it's bland, rushed development that showed; the opposite can be said of the new Xen. It is fleshed out, expanded upon with new regions like the Vortigaunt Ghettos, and lives up to what I imagined Valve initially envisioned in 1998.

TLDR: Black Mesa is a modern masterpiece, both with it's storied development over the course of nearly two decades, to the game's faithful, yet phenomenally creative take on the Xenian chapters. You might as well consider this canon, because this is the most faithful Half-Life game ever made.

So far, this game has blown away my expectations (of which I had zero after Avengers). The Guardians are all wonderfully interactive with each other, the commander mechanics of giving them tasks while fighting is fun, using their abilities to explore makes you think. To top it all off, the story is wild, but structured and deeper than I would've thought from first glance.

What I will say; Going into it, forget what you know about the MCU movies, as these Guardians are far truer to their comic book origins than their counterparts on the big screen.
