Since the game became free, it is impossible to play this game without Prime enabled as there are vast amounts of cheaters. However, if you purchase the Prime upgrade, matchmaking isn't so bad and is much better. I would still highly recommend you play this game if you're planning to play Prime, or even better yet, a third party service such as ESEA or FaceIt. FaceIt has a free version available for PUGs, both use 128 tick servers instead of the default 64 tick which does make a huge difference, and uses tournament rules including the knife round at the start to pick sides. Play Counter-Strike, but do it right. Get FaceIt or ESEA, have fun, learn the maps, the smokes, the flashes, the communications, and it is a lot of fun.
